LACERVILLE, Calif. —  Classes were canceled. Frozen foods melted. Hospitals switched to emergency generators. Blooms withered in florists’ coolers. Unused food was jettisoned at shuttered restaurants. Lines formed at gas stations. Cellphones faded out.

That’s what happened Wednesday when the state’s largest utility shut off power to millions of Californians in a drastic attempt to avoid the killer wildfires that have charred hundreds of thousands of acres, caused billions of dollars in damage and spurred cries for widespread change in how electricity is delivered over the state’s aging grid.

Elections have consequences... and when you're stupid enough to elect rabid leftists to rule over your state, power outages is exactly what you get and/or probably deserve.   Hell, just wait until California finishes fundamentally transforming into Cuba or Venezuela.   Power outages will be the very least of their problems.   And notice the repeating pattern.   Government keeps folks from clearing brush that help to start the wildfires.   Then Government swoops in to cut the power to prevent the wildfires.   It would be hilarious if it were not so patently absurd and sickening.

The state legislator is entirely responsible for this.

They demanded PG&E be held liable for a fire started by extremely high winds and if that's going to be the law of the land then only thing to do is shut off the power when the wind blows. It was clear that this was going to happen when they made their demands. Even the idiot governor tried to give PG&E some immunity but the legislator would have none of it.

This is what stupid looks like on a grand scale. Californians voted for it. Let them have it good and hard.

I'll add that at some point the state is going to have to relent and give whatever power companies remain in California immunity for weather caused disasters, that is disasters aided by the state because of their environmentalism preventing the cutting of trees and building access roads.
