Some Places Are Much More Unequal than Others

Where Is Wage Inequality Greatest?

Many large urban areas, such as New York City, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, and the San Francisco Bay area, are among the most unequal places. Inequality is also relatively high in parts of the South, such as metro areas in Texas, Louisiana, and Alabama. By contrast, wage inequality is lowest in metropolitan areas in the Midwest and the Great Lakes region, often referred to as the “Rust Belt,” as well as in Washington State and some parts of Florida.

If a well-regulated militia be the most natural defense of a free country, it ought certainly to be under the regulation and at the disposal of that body which is constituted the guardian of the national security.

Liberal bastions are always the place of most inequality of people.  It is what libs do, enrich themselves on the backs of those they consider inferior.

This map equates to the counties that voted Democrat in the last election.

So are the liberals for socialism/communism/equality or are the convervatives?

It's rhetorical, there are other factors that explain the inequality in those areas. The color might be a coincidence.

are you for real?

Socialism/communism is a political doctrine that forces most into 'an equal society', while its rulers are the privileged elitists that have the power and the wealth to rule over the masses ostensibly for their benefit, but in actuality for the benefit of the elitists.

It explains the Democrat dogma to a tee: large discrepancies of wealth between the rulers and the masses.

Why do you believe this is a coincidence?

Basically it comes down to this:

Where there's wealth, there's wealth inequality.
Where there isn't wealth, there's wealth equality.

In other words, nowhere in America is both prosperous and equal... and there will be some that will never be rich.

Indeed.   And whatever scheme the Democrats come up with to make income more "equal," such as the mandatory $15 per hour wage, usually ends up making the poor poorer.

It's no coincidence the the maps of both coincide with Democratic controlled metropolitan areas.
In Houston, we have a crony liberal mayor who has ex law firm partners that got a lot of grant money after hurricane Harvey.
Why a law firm would need federal grant money for a natural disaster is beyond me.
Since that money was allocated for the poorer in the community who were wiped out by the storm, it proves once again that when the liberals run things, the rich get richer (especially if they are liberals) and the poor get poorer.
Now, the are trying to sneak in a property tax hike before the new state law limiting the rates one can increase such taxes, goes into effect.
Some other former law firms that the Mayor favors needs more money from the city, I suppose.
A nice little tax that liberals will say only effect the "rich" land owners.
Who gets hit hardest are the  people who can't afford to buy, but rent instead.
The landlords just increase their rent to pay the property taxes.

I would never have imagined Prescott, AZ would be one of the "least unequal" cities on that map.  Vegas, sure.

(That one dark blue dot in AZ is miles away from either Phoenix (light dot) and Flagstaff (light dot). Media mapmakers wouldn't know Prescott from Wickenberg.)

Probably need to look at all of the data.

Whatever, Prescott is a damn nice place, by my criteria.

I can assure you, I think it's nice too. I ended up choosing another place in AZ to retire, but Prescott was on our search list.
