Howdy..

I thought Perry would make a great choice as head of Defense or Energy with Defense being my choice. Perry has done an excellent job at Energy, his policies have made one of the few Trump election promises that have been fulfilled and has solidifies his support in the oil patch.

I have never supported Trump but he has turned out to be much worse than I ever imagined he would be to the Conservative brand.

At some point, even those who have supported him and love this country and its Constitution will have to ask themselves... Is it ok for the next socialist Dim president  to follow Trump's precedent and be immune from impeachment..

We're practically seeing Trump hand Nancy his head on a platter.

Good point.  We are not going to like it if the Democrats do any of this crap.  But Trump is thinking he is going to be President forever so we don't have to worry about that.

Trump is the literal "Anti-Truman"

Instead of the buck stopping at his desk,  DJT keeps a corral of paraded scape goats, in an assembly line going to slaughter.

Trump is Trash!!!!

it's a pattern with Trump.  Deny he did anything wrong, but if something was done wrong, it's someone else's fault,  Trump  will never own up to his misdeeds or failures.

This sort of thing is more for the benefit of his fans.  In their minds, Trump is infallible, but if there is any question that Trump did wrong or did not do what he should have done, then his fans need a scapegoat to blame if there is ever any question.  These fans can't respond to any allegation of Trump wrongdoing or failure until they get the official response from their idol.

You would think by now Trump's fans would be wise to his M.O., but they are so enamored with him, they accept anything he says or does without question.  No wonder some refer to Trump and his fans as a "cult."

I always liked Perry alright I guess - Dang near... I grumbled a lot when he was running for Prez, but I reckon I would have voted for him.

That's right - But the same ol song, too - fiscal conservatives and civil-libertarian conservatives  thrown under the bus... Bullsh*t the Christians because you need their votes... Pour money at the defense conservatives, and buy em lots of toys... And spend money like it's 2050...

All he really needs now is sh*tkickers and a ranch in Texas.
It all sounds SO familiar.

Yeah - A whole lot of stuff is getting permanently broken. Wait till the dems are in power and pull that emergency bullcrap and pull all the money out of Defense for Globull warming. It will happen.

Rick Perry denies discussing Bidens with Trump or Ukraine officials: reports

Dom Calicchio

Energy Secretary Rick Perry denies ever mentioning the Bidens during discussions with Ukrainian officials or with President Trump, according to reports.

Perry’s name has come up in connection with the Trump-Ukraine phone call saga, after news outlet Axios reported that Trump told House Republicans he made the July phone call to the Ukrainian president based on Perry’s recommendation.

The controversy surrounding the call centers on allegations that Trump requested Ukraine officials investigate business dealings in the country by former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden, as part of a “quid pro quo” arrangement for Ukraine to secure U.S military funding.

The article starting this thread is from the Rolling Stone  (only posting "MSN" is a cute, albeit disingenuous, way to disguise this)

Here's the sum total of what folks are getting so bent out of shape over:

Quote
"Not a lot of people know this, but I didn't even want to make the call. The only reason I made the call was because Rick asked me to. Something about an LNG [liquified natural gas] plant," Trump said, according to the recollection of one source who spoke to Axios and was affirmed by two others.

Shaylyn Hynes, a spokeswoman to Perry, confirmed that Perry urged Trump to speak with Zelensky.

“Secretary Perry absolutely supported and encouraged the president to speak to the new president of Ukraine to discuss matters related to their energy security and economic development," Hynes said. "He continues to believe that there is significant need for improved regional energy security — which is exactly why he is heading to Lithuania tonight to meet with nearly 2 dozen European energy leaders (including Ukraine) on these issues."

Posting from MSN is not meant to disguise anything.  Sometimes I cant find the original article or the article is from.some paper to which I don't have access.  Not about to subscribe to WaPo, for example, for one crappy article.

And essentially your quote is the subject of the RS article.  Trump is essentially saying he did nothing wrong, but if he did, it's all Rick Perry's fault.  And now Rick Perry denies influencing or even mentioning the Bidens.

Sorry, but I believe Perry over Trump.

Trump is throwing so many people under the bus that he is going to need another bus!  Why is it that Trump never takes responsibility for anything that does not go his way?

It shouldn't ... but often does.  FWIW @Applewood when I post from MSN I always include the name of the source document.

It's called transparency.   happy77

Where did the President say Perry asked him to talk about Biden @Applewood ?  According to the quote I posted from the Washington Examiner (who quotes Axios ...) the President said he only called the President of Ukraine at Perry's request to talk about a liquid gas plant.  Perry, through his spokesperson, confirmed this.

I don't think the President was throwing Perry under the bus here ... I think POTUS was presenting this as evidence that his motivation to call the President of Ukraine was not to talk about Biden.

This story is much ado about nothing.
