New York Times sinks its Kavanaugh claim with Editor's Note stating alleged victim 'does not recall the incident'
Washington Examiner, Sep 16, 2019

More than a day after publishing a bombshell exposé detailing a new sexual misconduct allegation against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, the New York Times added a significant passage, along with an editor's note, that undercuts the claim.

The report published Saturday evening was adapted from an upcoming book by reporters Robin Pogrebin and Kate Kelly, titled "The Education of Brett Kavanaugh: An Investigation" and due out Tuesday.

The Times reporters revealed the account of one of Kavanaugh's male classmates at Yale University, Max Stier, who said he witnessed Kavanaugh make inappropriate sexual contact with a female student in the mid-1980s. Stier notified the FBI and senators about the incident. Although the FBI did not investigate the claim, two officials who communicated with Stier corroborated the story to the Times.

In the updated version of the article, the following passage was added: "the female student declined to be interviewed and friends say she does not recall the episode."

These days, the New York Times has as much credibility as the National Enquirer, actually maybe less.
You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.

That Helpful Kavanaugh Reminder
American Conservative, Sep 16, 2019, Rod Dreher

<snip>

An earlier version of this article, which was adapted from a forthcoming book, did not include one element of the book’s account regarding an assertion by a Yale classmate that friends of Brett Kavanaugh pushed his penis into the hand of a female student at a drunken dorm party. The book reports that the female student declined to be interviewed and friends say that she does not recall the incident. That information has been added to the article.

That’s one hell of an omission from the original article, which went viral, by the way, without this vital information.

So, how did a couple of leading Democrats who aspire to replace Trump in the Oval Office respond to the Times piece?

Quote
I sat through those hearings. Brett Kavanaugh lied to the U.S. Senate and most importantly to the American people. He was put on the Court through a sham process and his place on the Court is an insult to the pursuit of truth and justice.

He must be impeached.

— Kamala Harris (@KamalaHarris) September 15, 2019

Quote
Last year the Kavanaugh nomination was rammed through the Senate without a thorough examination of the allegations against him. Confirmation is not exoneration, and these newest revelations are disturbing. Like the man who appointed him, Kavanaugh should be impeached.

— Elizabeth Warren (@ewarren) September 15, 2019

Eyes wide open, people. We perhaps should be grateful to the Times for reminding us of the stakes. Look:

 New York Times Admits Alleged
‘Victim’ Of Kavanaugh Incident
Has No Recollection Of It

NYT Reporters’ essay about a supposed second Yale incident omitted their own book reporting that completely undercuts it: alleged victim denies any memory of it. Journalistically indefensible, though gullible additional reporters are spreading it of course.

Yeah, but............ the seriousness of the charge!
Character still matters.  It always matters.

I wear a mask as an exercise in liberty and love for others.  To see it as an infringement of liberty is to entirely miss the point.  Be kind.

This is my favorite bit from that article:

I am a much bigger supporter of Trump than I was when I voted for him in 2016, and it is largely due to what the left has done since his election.  Their behavior should scare the crap out of anyone who cares at all about keeping this country from totalitarianism.

Some of the more strident Trump supporters can be annoying, but they lack both the power and the sheer anti-democractic malevolence of the left in this country.  "Trumpers" are not remotely the danger to this country's founding principles as a republic as the progressives have become.

It's truly frightening.

What's really "frightening".....  that the voters will stay home and not "...crawl over broken glass" to keep the Socialists locked in the trunk.

There really needs to be some consequenes for this blatant false character assasinaton.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

Yeah, I didn't want to go there because the whole "you're supporting the left if you don't vote for Trump" thing has been going on for years here.  It simply isn't productive, and persuades absolutely nobody.

I've always believed the left was pretty much this bad.  The difference was that they used to be fewer and afraid to display that openly, so that was some limitation on them.  They kept most of their totalitarian tendencies in the closet because they knew they wouldn't play well.  But now, they've lost all fear and are more or less open about what they wish to do in terms of politics -- not even policy -- moving forward.

That's not at all what I was doing, @Maj. Bill Martin

Speaking about the millions of people who didn't vote in 2016 for one reason or another.

Being spoon-fed 24/7/365 anti-Trump news for 4 years has got to enhance those numbers a bit...even when Socialism is the alternative.

Ah, gotcha.

Yeah, and it is going to get much, much worse if the Dems regain the White House.  They already want to eliminate Citizens United, which essentially means they can ban all paid political advertising.  That means they can shut down conservative groups that try to get their message out there.  We won't have Trump to tweet, and the mainstream media is in their pocket.  So essentially, we'd have no effective means to get our messages out there to the majority of voters.  It'll be a government-enforced one-sided debate on every issue.

I used to believe that the internet could be our refuge, because we could always disseminate our message that way.  But not only do most of the major internet companies lean left anyway, but the Dems in power will be able to use antitrust and other regulatory hearings as an implied threat to get those "private" companies to shut down speech they don't like.

If my own circle-of-influence is any indication, I don't see that, @Bigun

My closest friends going back 20 years either outwardly hate Pres. Trump or refuse to discuss him out of respect.

I'm afraid the negativity is taking its toll, when up against the mother-of-all 'Get out the Vote' campaigns.

We need a major indictment and that person needs to flip...all before next Fall or we're screwed.
