Ted Cruz: 'Donald Trump has broken the Democratic Party'
by Hunter Lovell | September 15, 2019 11:48 AM

Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz said on ABC's This Week with George Stephanopoulos that President Trump has "broken the Democratic Party" and that Democrats are solely focused on "hating him."

ABC host George Stephanopoulos mentioned Cruz's warning that Texas could be a potential background state in the 2020 presidential election and noted that five Republican House members from the state have come forward saying they would not seek reelection next year.

Cruz claimed that the third Democratic presidential debate in Houston on Thursday was a "very bad night" for Democrats because the candidates did not mention the economy's relative strength through the third quarter of this year.

This fully supports my theory about Hillary Clinton declaring as the only sane choice...an opportunity to correct a mistake, etc..

Donald Trump's only defense is timely release of evidence that indicts her in the public eye going into the home stretch of the campaign.

I don't know about broken but he has certainly forced them out into the open.  The can no longer hide who and what they are.

Trump has a VP; Pence.  I believe Cruz has been in the news lately because of his passion and fight for the 2A. He mentioned that he would like to run for POTUS again, but I don't see that happening until the 2024 election.

I did not realize that talking about the deep state, talking of how Texas could flip, facebook and anti-abortion ads, the court nomination were about his "passion and fight" for the 2nd amendment.  All in the past 10 days. My bad.

Besides we are talking about the Republican party, not the Constitution party.  I thought that was who you were for.

I beg to differ Sen. Cruz, obummer destroyed the democratic party.  President Trump is just trolling their collective misery, quite successfully, I may add.

Trump did not destroy the Democommies, that was all self destruction, from Obama's Incompetent Administration to their modern day vision leader, AOC.  Think about it, virtually all Democommies have embraced the 29 year old bartender's vision for the Green New Deal, something that would destroy this nation.  Trump did none of that, but he did capitalize on informing the people of America how brilliant the present day leadership is of the Democommie Party.

The Dems just cannot do anything right any more, and again that is not Trump.  Despite the mindset of US citizens, they have become the party representing the illegal invading aliens.  This will not get them votes.  And if not that, they are pushing ideas that would destroy tens of millions of jobs, destroy entire industries, etc.  Heck with GM out on strike, this is a great chance for them to say maybe it is time GM goes away and get a jump on no combustion engines.

Cruz is wrong.  Trump broke nothing.  And yes, Cruz wants to remain in the news cycle for name recognition in 2024. He is running for 2024, and my guess he is fishing for Trump's endorsement between now and  May, 2024.

The rats were and would've continue to be fine as long as the GOP played along. Which the GOP seemed happy to do.

Trump does not play along. You don't have to believe he's a genius to accept that.

I agree.

He is merely exploiting the fact that the Dem party under Obama has turned itself into a party of screeching, socialist crazies.

Not that it's a bad thing that he's made them even crazier, but it's definitely not causal to their destruction.

@jafo2010

I suspect the probability of Trump's endorsement being worth a $hit in 2024 to be infinite, more likely on a Bob Dole or Mitt Romney level.

Cruz is right.  Trump's trolling has exposed them.  Now, of course a lot of the breaking was self-imposed, but Trump tipped the scales.

I think he's right. The Rats are God hating, baby killing, gun grabbing, no borders, socialists. They hate the USA and want it remade in their socialist vision.

Now the important question is does a majority of the public understand this?

Lets pray a majority of the public sees them for what they are. At their core the Rats hate the USA and want it remade in their socialist vision.

Our problem though is most people are pretty ignorant. They haven't shaken off their education indoctrination. They believe the news media and think Hollyweird is really smart.

I think he more than tipped the scales. His in your face style, nicknaming, and tweeting turned them into 'hair on fire" hysterical fools. They have never been confronted by someone who not only fights back, but keeps fighting and never backs off. The Rats have always been able to sling mud and not worry about it being thrown back because the Pub POTUS was too busy being "presidential".
