A Virginia woman was reportedly fired from her job because she refused to take off her hijab at work.

Najaf Khan was hired as a dental assistant at Fair Oaks Dental Care in Fairfax County, Virginia, and on her third day decided it’d be appropriate to wear the hijab because she felt confidant that she would be staying in her new role for some time.

Dr. Chuck Joo, the owner of Fair Oaks Dental Care, informed her that day that she would need to take off her hijab or else she’d be fired.

He didn't know she was Muslim when he hired her. She only came out on day 3.

This story reminds me of the woman who got a job as a traveling sales representative knowing she was pregnant. Needless to say, a few months later she requested a desk job because she said being pregnant she could no longer travel. But she knew she was pregnant when she took the job so...

On the other hand, what kind of person could fire a single pregnant woman? She really put the manager in tough position. And did so deliberately and with intent. The article did not say how this ended, but I suspect the manager offered her a month or two of salary to resign, and then had to go through the whole applicant search yet again.

Thanks!  I eventually found the article with Goggle, and also noticed no indication of immigration so I moved it to "Health."
