Trump's approval rating drops 6 points amid economic worries: poll
By Rebecca Klar - 09/10/19 07:32 AM EDT

President Trump’s approval rating dropped 6 points in a new poll as Americans voice concerns about the economy.

Trump’s approval rating fell to 38 percent after July’s career-high 44 percent approval, based on the ABC News/Washington Post poll released Tuesday.

The survey also found that 46 percent of Americans approve of Trump's handling of the economy and only 35 percent approve of his performance of trade negotiations with China.

Forty-three percent of Americans, meanwhile, said the impact of Trump's economic policies will increase the chance of a recession.

Polls! :3:

Well the idea to bring business back to the US is a good one.  We have had NAFTA  WTO since the 90's.  Outsourcing and downsizing.  Moving companies to China, India and Mexico. That's a yuge challenge to change the way we have done business for Nearly 30 years.  Metal and aluminum have been gone for a long time.  But these Tariffs are killing small business that rely on parts from China.  Sure you can say its a small price to pay but many people are employed by small business.  You can say its a small sacrifice to gain...………..  But a small business Machine Shop that is put out of business isn't going to see it as a small sacrifice.

It seems to me if we want to draw business it isn't by punishing them.  By punishing the big business that has moved off shore we are sacrificing small business and manufacturing jobs.

AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

Fake news reporting the coming recession 24/7 would be my guess why the uneducated pollee's think the way they do.

The most recent jobs figures do not support your hypothesis.

It is better to have a recession than to endure 4 more years of Trump seems to be the strategy for the Fake news media and their allies, the NT'rs.

I wonder if several large liberal states like California & NY can skew the national results. The morons running my state are doing their damndest to kill the golden egg laying goose. I talk to people all the time who blame DC for the results of Sacramento's policies.

I check Rasmussen every day...and while some may argue that it favors the GOP (which is mostly wrong)...its trend line has been very stable this past couple of weeks hovering from 46-48. If there were real movement on approval, it would absolutely show up on a daily tracking poll. As it does not, this is just WaPo doing its normal push polling.

FYI...just 24% of the people polled identify as Republican. Ridiculous.

First they tried talking down the economy, and when that didn't work, they finally collapsed the economy via the mortgage loan industry re: their idiotic campaign of forcing banks to extend housing loans to (Holder's) people that could never pay it back.   They're trying the same thing as we speak and they will destroy Trump's economy by any means necessary.... if they can.

Are you sure.  You have to break it down to find out what industry.

This company is big compared to local ones I know struggling.

https://video.foxbusiness.com/v/6042016423001/#sp=show-clips

Anyone who works in manufacturing that get parts from China know that this is hitting the industry hard.  Small businesses do employ in our local communities.

I don't have to prove anything.  Everyone here knows how business works.  If your a company that has commitments to purchase parts in China you are feeling the pinch.  It would be stupid to say that companies have not struggled, laid off people or folded completely.

Both the companies that my husband and I work for are small businesses that rely on parts from China.
