And LSU fans hate everybody.

#STTDB

(I actually can't believe ESPN actually clearly showed the LSU students chanting that!)

If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

-Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."

@EdJames  - wondering what you think of the possibility that a healthy Justin Fields and Buckeye team would have done better against LSU than Clemson did last night.

Having watched them closely all year, I think they probably would have.  I still think that Clemson and OSU were even in that game, and OSU would have been better with a healthy Fields.

What say you??

@musiclady

Hard to say on any given night/day how a team may do against a particular opponent, but what isn't hard to say is that Justin Fields healthy with two good wheels is a very different QB than the version on the field against Clemson (and Wisconsin as well).  The bad leg impacted all aspects of his game, and made it much easier (simpler) for the opponents to defend against the Buckeye attack.

The Titans made a real good run, so it goes.  Congrats for a good year and to the Chiefs too.

I mean, the Titans defeated New England and then Baltimore, Baltimore looked like real world beaters to me. So, in a way, they beat at least, some of the best teams out there if one doesn't want to say, they beat the best.  Still, a bit of time on the clock... I will see this out.

There's still time here—and I may be jinxing myself—but the Titans are fancying themselves as giant slayers in these playoffs. Yowza.
Well, the Cinderella run ended today.

Now on to Packers/49ers, and the distinct possibility that we could end up with the State Farm Bowl if Aaron Rodgers's Packers win tonight. (Both Rodgers and KC's Patrick Mahomes are celebrity endorsers of State Farm.)

I think the best two teams won yesterday.

In my view, this is going to be a very, very good Super Bowl.

Well........ I just found out that, since Eddie DeBartolo bought the 49ers and helped build the Joe Montana Super Bowl team, and since he's a Youngstown entrepreneur, the 49ers still work out at YSU, and since I was born in Youngstown and grew up nearby, and actually did some graduate work at YSU, I actually have a reason to root for San Francisco.

But since I really don't care, and I kinda like both teams, I'm going to do what I usually do in such cases.......

I'm going to root for the offense!   happy77

Fast Eddie also threw bagfuls of cash at Governor Eddie Edwards in the 90s to get the last Louisiana casino license.

He turned states evidence to get Edwards convicted on federal racketeering charges so the Governor spent years in the federal pen while DeBartolo remained free.

So I’m supposed to be against the 49ers or what?

This is supposed to be a football thread.    *****rollingeyes*****

(Youngstown is filled with Mafioso. It really doesn’t have much to do with the current 49ers working out at YSU, does it?)

Kind of hard separating the sleaze from the football.  I think his point has merit.

My understanding is that, historically speaking, most of Youngstown was mobbed up, so it's all good.
Football fans shouldn't hold it against DeBartolo.  Play ball!

On one hand:

Kansas City. First Super Bowl in 50 years. An electrifying star quarterback in Pat Mahomes.
BUT...
Four straight division titles dating to even before Mahomes got there. Seven straight winning seasons. If not for the Patriots dynasty, they'd probably be the dominant, unlikable team in the NFL.

On the other hand:

San Francisco. Already has five Super Bowls. Last appeared only seven years ago. Big market city.
BUT...
Outside of Jim Harbaugh's run with the team, it's largely been awful (13 of the previous 16 years were non-winning seasons, including last year's 4-12), so this truly feels like a Cinderella run. Other than Richard Sherman, they don't have a lot of big-name talent.

Plus, they rightfully kicked Kaepernick to the curb after that little stunt, and I have to give them credit for that.

The head says go with the chiefs. My gut and heart are pulling for the 49ers.
