Sen. Elizabeth Warren's worst lie
« on: August 26, 2019, 01:29:24 pm »
 By Robert Knight - - Friday, August 23, 2019

ANALYSIS/OPINION:

Sen. Elizabeth Warren has again apologized — sort of — for lying about being an American Indian back when it helped advance her academic legal career.

At a Native American presidential forum in Sioux City, Iowa last Monday, the Massachusetts Democrat framed her prevarications as a mistake:

“I want to say this, like anyone who’s been honest with themselves, I know that I have made mistakes. I am sorry for harm that I have caused. I have listened, and I have learned a lot, and I am grateful for the many conversations that we’ve had together.”

It’s a variation on the old “mistakes were made” defense; at least she admitted to being the one who made the “mistakes.”

Ms. Warren, who is as white as Ivory Snow, was identified as a “minority faculty member” by the University of Pennsylvania. She herself asked the school to change her status from white to Native American, according to the Federalist’s David Harsanyi. She self-identified as a “minority” in the school’s legal directory, and was listed by Harvard Law School as one of the “women of color” that they had hired for diversity.

Self identifying as having an Indian heritage due to what her family told her, played no part in her being accepted to any university nor in her employment. Her apology was to the Cherokee Nation after she had a DNA test to verify whether or not she had Indian blood.  There was a small bit of DNA evidence that could be Indian, but it was not conclusive. That is why she apologized to the Cherokee nation.

The truth about her education and jobs is here, as stated by those universities (I posted this on another thread about this):

It was Massachusetts Republican Senator Scott Brown who first brought up Warren’s ancestry.  She ran against him and defeated him in 2012 and became the Senator from Massachusetts.  He was using any untruths he could to stop her winning over him. The truth of this is below, exactly what Harvard said and other universities said.

At that time, 'the Boston Globe newspaper reported that interviews and documents show the issue was not considered by Harvard Law faculty or those who admitted the now U.S. senator from Massachusetts to law school at Rutgers or to jobs at The University of Houston, The University of Texas, and the University of Pennsylvania "

From Harvard at that time:
"She was not on the radar screen at all in terms of a racial minority hire," Randall, Kennedy, a law professor who was in charge of recruiting minority candidates to Harvard Law School, told the Globe. "It was just not an issue. I can't remember anybody ever mentioning her in this context."

“The Globe reports that it examined hundreds of documents, many of them never before available, and talked to 31 law school professors from that period at Harvard. All but one said her Native American heritage was not discussed as part of the decision to hire her. One said he was unsure if the issue came up, but if it did, had no bearing on his vote.”

At that time, "Warren posted on her website documents related to her job and school applications and again asserted that her heritage played no role in her career advancement."

On that thread I said my family history was the same as hers - what we had been told by family.  Hers was Cherokee and mine was Choctaw. We believed what our family said.

This article says "Ms. Warren, who is as white as Ivory Snow...".  I am also "white as Ivory Snow".  That is because my mother's family was 100% English and my father was English, except for the small amount of Choctaw blood in him.

But this is not her worst lie.

On August 9, Sen. Warren tweeted: “5 years ago Michael Brown was murdered by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri. Michael was unarmed yet he was shot 6 times. I stand with activists and organizers who continue the fight for justice for Michael. We must confront systemic racism and police violence head on.”

This is many times more egregious than the lie that earned her the “Pocahontas” sobriquet by President Trump. The false “hands up, don’t shoot” narrative triggered waves of riots, looting, arson and at least one death, 16 injuries, including to six police officers, and millions of dollars in damage.

It has fueled Black Lives Matter’s hate campaign against police and forged a false picture of America as a uniquely racist country for which socialism is the only cure.
...
On Nov. 24, 2014, St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert McCulloch announced that the county grand jury had declined to indict Officer Wilson. On March 4, 2015, Obama’s Justice Department issued its own report, ruling it self-defense.

Knowing all this, longtime law professor Warren went ahead and recklessly repeated the “murder” accusation. She wasn’t the only Democrat running for president to do so. Minutes before Ms. Warren, Kamala Harris tweeted:

This was Fauxcahontas' great lie (and Kammy's too). It signals that at a national level, Dems are ready to refuel activists' war on police.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

I have a somewhat different view of this.  I don't care that Warren lied or misunderstood her family's history.  I don't care that she used "Native American" classification.  I absolutely hate the idea of giving someone preference because of their ethnicity (or, in Warren's case, lack thereof).  I wouldn't have a problem with her calling herself a transgender Eskimo shaman.

But, doing so does tell me that she may not be credible or truthful.  And, that leads to other lies that she has told, such as the Michael Brown was murdered lie.  That one is very, very serious, and she could never have my support after telling that one.

Is the Warren campaign paying you for all this cheerleading? If not then you are losing out. You should officially join her campaign in some paid capacity. From what I have seen, you would be very good at it. You would be an asset to her team. It is a shame to do all of this for free. BTW, not being sarcastic. I don't care who you vote for. But in all seriousness, you should join Warren's team. Why not?

I wonder why Liz insisted that the University of Pennsylvania change her identification from white to Native American yet when she went to Harvard as a Native American she refused to meet with the local Native American organization?

No one would ever do this unless it was to use the disguise to advance her own career.

She most certainly did in multiple venues, including to apply for the State Bar of Texas, even to get a Senate election win in Massachusetts.

Whatever your own case is, it does not exclude the obvious lying this woman has done to seek power.

Lieawatha repeated her lie about her heritage for years and I don't believe for a minute that she wasn't given preference over other applicants because of it.
