NBC News: “Heterosexuality Is Just Not Working’

Women are increasingly opting out of heterosexuality because it is “the bedrock of their global oppression,” NBC News asserted in a bizarre opinion piece this week.

“Men need heterosexuality to maintain their societal dominance over women,” writes Marcie Bianco for the NBC News website. “Women, on the other hand, are increasingly realizing not only that they don’t need heterosexuality, but that it also is often the bedrock of their global oppression.”

Ms. Bianco lumps together a series of recent news stories, “from Jeffrey Epstein to the Dayton and El Paso mass shooters, to Miley Cyrus’s separation and Julianne Hough’s declaration that she’s ‘not straight,’” which, she says, “together have laid bare the strictures of an American patriarchy on the edge of a nervous breakdown.”

“As the status quo, heterosexuality is just not working,” she concludes, before explaining just how evil men are and how women are learning to live without them.

What's so amazing to me about this is how insular and self-absorbed her remarks reveal her to be.  It's "not working" because two women in Hollywood say they're bisexual.  In the closed-loop world that is the American left, only the things that they do actually matter.  The vast majority of relationships that are heterosexual...well, they don't really count.

What a joke.

Also, she appears to be arguing that sexuality is a choice, which is sort of the opposite of what the left generally argues.

I watch very little tv and almost no new movies.  I started watching some of the new game shows recently and am amazed at the number of "out there" gays there are. There is no doubt in my mind that there were many gays and bi's in Hollywierd in the past. But it wasn't advertised as it is now. You (and my brother) are correct...it's popular right now. And will continue to be so.

They go out of their way to find them to put on those shows @Bertie.  The fact is that although they are VERY noisy and get lots of attention because of that, they make up less than 2% of our population.

And also weakens the argument that the 'community' needs special protection because they were born "that way".  They bring Hedonism to the table, which shouldn't be condoned, IMO.
