Some people will disbelieve anything he says and blame it on the media. Ears in fingers, screaming at the top of their lungs syndrome.

He's a well-established narcissist, was before he entered politics and still is. This should not surprise anyone. Alas, it does fool a lot of people.

Not sure what you're trying to say, @jmyrlefuller.  Yes, he is a narcissist.  And....?

Defeating an incumbent president in a primary is really a long shot. Trump managed to fill more seats at one of his rallies than Elton John did.  Despite the skewed and weak polling data that shows Trump's popularity waning, I don't see any GOP challenging Trump and winning.  Just not going to happen.  Running 3rd party they may at best claim 1 or 2% ... I don't think enough to make a difference.  In the case of Romney I believe he would have to switch parties which means that he would lose his Senate  seat.
Then I can only hope that Pence runs as the incumbent.

I can't believe that Walsh has any ratings on his Salem Radio show. I view his announcement as a means of trying to get more visibility for his show, nothing more.

He can't run for President while staying on the air, that would be a conflict of interest.

I don't know of any law that says he can't.

Curious as to why?  He may be more refined then Trump but the liberal leftist and media will also try to tear him apart and smear his reputation, regardless if he's been the VP or not.  Smear tactics and lies are the DEM way and this I believe has kept some really good candidates from running for office. Who wants to go through what they have done to the President, and Kavanaugh, etc.?

I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey it laws; to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies." -William Page

It happens all the time. A lot of small-town mayors have radio shows they host even during campaign season.

The issue instead becomes equal-time rules. If Salem allows him to keep doing his show, they have to offer the same airtime to any other bona fide candidate. Salem signs off and goes to reruns after Walsh's show ends. Most candidates don't have that much free time, so they wouldn't be likely to take the airtime, which would likely be late at night when few people are listening anyway.

We can't afford another 4 years of President Ivanka.
Plus, as much as I distrust Pence, I doubt he would be ordering companies to find alternatives to China.

Joe Walsh trying to woo George Conway to join his campaign

by Caitlin Yilek

  

Conservative radio show host Joe Walsh met with George Conway in an effort to convince the lawyer and husband to White House counselor Kellyanne Conway to join his long-shot primary challenge to President Trump.

Walsh, a former one-term congressman from Illinois, is expected to announce his presidential campaign this weekend.

Walsh met with Conway on Thursday to ask if he would join his campaign in a senior position, the New York Times reported. The lawyer has never worked on a political campaign and did not commit to joining Walsh’s but said he would consider it.

That was precisely what the Left does.  They knew Kavanaugh would get in,  it was a matter of sending a message to anyone else who would dare oppose them.  Which is why Trump, whatever faults he may have,  gets a pass from me.  He's willing to take those arrows and throw them right back at them.

Exactly.  Trump has the ability to take those arrows and shoot them right back at them.  To an extent I am willing to give him a little bit of wiggle room on his failure(s) at the border.  However, IF he remotely stomps on the 2A, he will lose my vote.  At that point to me, there will be little difference between voting for him and one of the bat crap crazies on the left.

Re: the 2A IMO Trump is employing what the Japanese call Mokusatsu - in his case he's killing restrictive legislation with double talk, not silence. Which suits me fine 'cause the media doesn't know how to deal with it.

So far anyway. If I'm wrong I'll be screaming the loudest.

Quite frankly I find it unsettling that his supporters keep interpreting what they think he's doing. Meanwhile, NY's red flag laws go into effect this week.  FL implemented their version of red flag laws after their mass shootings last year.  Also in FL anti-gunners are trying to bring a vote to ballot on banning assault weapons. Shootings keep cropping up and the issue isn't going to go away in silence.

It doesn't help when our President states that he supports red flag laws ... little by little, states are taking his lead.  So ... not quite sure how you see it as he is killing legislative action with double talk.

I think I might just throw an alternative to Trump in the primary a vote.  I think it is the best way for conservatives to voice their protests that his bamblastard type of leadership sucks.

I will certainly look at the guy... Don't know him from a hole in the ground...

but the point is the principles... And coming from an Illini, principles are not likely to arise.
I will look at him all the same... Hope does spring eternal.

So far there isn't a viable candidate on the GOP side running against him that has a snowball's chance of winning. Trump has several things against him going into the 2020 election right now; talk of trampling the 2a, rising debt, possibility of a recession, and no border wall.  He is failing on most of the promises he's made.  He does though have some time to turn things around, but I question whether or not he is able to do so.

Only because the cult of partisan politics, the same cancer that Trump's supporters were supposed to be against, makes it impossible for any person to run against an incumbent in his own party, no matter how much that challenge is needed.

When was the last time an incumbent saw a real challenge? 1980 with Ted Kennedy? When was the last time an incumbent was ousted in a primary? Ever? I vaguely recall maybe the 1850s, but it's been a ridiculously long time.

It's disgusting. Three years ago we were all warning y'all about Trump and his narcissistic, erratic behavior... but now that he's the incumbent, we have an unhinged liberal Republican waiting to go total fascist once he's a lame duck, against flat-out socialists. A no-win scenario. And the conservatives like Walsh and Amash, who we once cheered as the conscience of the party, are now persona non grata when that conscience calls out Trump's liberalism.

"No one can win," they tell us. Well, that's YOUR FAULT for blindly supporting bad incumbents! If we're going to follow Duverger's Law and maintain the two-party system, we have to make sure that we actually have good choices. 2016 left us with two horrible choices. Let's not make that mistake again!
The enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend. It may just be that I have two enemies.

Look at the meter being used to measure "absolutely unfit". Obviously, the nutcase Walsh considers his own 'clown' persona to be what he determines to be 'fit'. Furthermore, he is trying to recruit the lunatic creep Conway, to run with him.

I take Walsh calling someone/anyone 'unfit', the same way I would take it is Charles Manson said the same thing.

The principle's the same.  Someone in power is not going to eschew any legal means necessary to keep others out.  "Grow up" is an ineffective epithet to prevent this.
