Trump cancels student loan debt held by disabled veterans

President Trump is canceling federal student loan debt held by disabled U.S. veterans.

Trump announced the new executive memorandum at a speech in front of the American Veterans organization in Louisville, Kentucky, on Wednesday.

"I am taking executive action to ensure that our wounded warriors are not saddled with mountains of student debt," Trump told an audience of veterans. He is ordering the Department of Education "to eliminate every penny of federal student loan debt owed by American veterans who are completely and permanently disabled."

The order will aid more than 25,000 eligible veterans holding roughly $30,000 worth of student loan debt, Trump said. No federal tax will be levied against the forgiven debts, and the president is pushing each state to waive state taxes on the benefit, as well.

I really like the idea...but does the President actually have the legal authority to do this?  I mean...could President Warren decide to waive student loan debt for everyone?

Of course he does! Obama was allowed to create DACA out of thin air so there are NO constraints now.  /s

I heard on the radio yesterday that permanently disabled veterans have 100% of tuition or occupational training covered already.
This came from former Navy SEAL, TX Congressman Dan Crenshaw.

Is this true?

How much does the GI bill cover now, for those not disabled?

Thank You Mr. President, we owe these Disabled Veterans much, much more.
No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.
