House Republican lawmakers are openly expressing support for Rep. Steve King’s (R-Iowa) main primary challenger after the incumbent’s latest controversial remarks about abortion, rape and incest.

Rep. Paul Mitchell (R-Mich.), the sophomore class representative in House GOP leadership, says he plans to contribute the maximum amount to King’s primary opponent.

“I will be openly contributing to his primary opponent and encouraging others to do the same.  Enough of his destructive commentary,” said Mitchell, who recently announced his plans to retire from Congress next year.


“In my opinion Steve King does not reflect the values or principles of our conference,” Mitchell added.

While the GOP overthrows individual republicans who express the truth injudiciously the rat leadership declares their solid support for overt violent anti-white anti-male anti-semites in their party.

Well, good.  Congressman King at best is a rhetorically intemperate lout, and at worst holds contemptible views.  Either way, he's an example of why American political parties (or at least the GOP) should have a mechanism for casting out elected officials comparable to the British "withdrawing the whip".

Thats what elections are supposed to be for. Or cannot Iowans be trusted to choose their own representatives?

Do you realize who our President is? Of COURSE we can't be trusted to choose our own representatives! That's how we end up with nuts like AOC and Omar in office.

This country was founded by men who loved liberty and were willing to sacrifice all they had in order to have it. Now, 260 odd years later the place is being run by people who's only interest is how do I get another slice of meat on MY sandwich.

I suspect that King is a decent man, though I don't know that for a fact.  What I do know for a fact is that he says stupider things than Joe Biden.  He is remarkably lacking in self-awareness and says things that are perfect for taking out of context and hitting him, and by extension, conservatives over the head with.  Trump does the same type of extemporaneous effluence, but King doesn't have the personality or pull to be able to get away with it.  And, he says some things that even Trump wouldn't say, like this one.

People are making the least charitable inferences.  That is common where conservative politicians are involved.  However, his job depends upon his communication skills.  If he isn't able to tailor his remarks then he probably ought to do something else.

The people can elect whomever they want, that doesn't mean a political party has to keep anyone who signs up as part of their membership.  Political parties are private organizations, and as such should be able to determine their own membership.
