O’Rourke Supports Mandatory Gun Buyback Program
Says it's 'not politically easy'

Graham Piro - August 15, 2019 11:40 AM

Democratic presidential candidate Robert Francis "Beto" O'Rourke confirmed Thursday that he supports a mandatory buyback program for "assault weapons and weapons of war."

CNN reporter Eric Bradner tweeted the transcript of O'Rourke's response to a question about the former congressman's calls for a mandatory buyback program. Last week, O'Rourke said he was "open" to a program modeled after the Australian mandatory buyback program implemented in 1996.

O'Rourke was initially reluctant to push for a buyback because it was "not politically easy," according to Bradner.

O'Rourke supports civil war and butchering of non-complaint Americans in their homes and streets.

How very Stalin of him.

I think any Rat running for President will try to do a Mandatory Confiscation of AR-15s and AK-47s.  There will be a lot of noncompliance, as there was in Canada's attempt to register all rifles.

Obviously, calling it a "Buy-back" is total bullshit because we didn't buy them from the National Government.  It's "confiscation" plain and simple, putting the lie to the fooles who keep telling us "Nobody wants to confiscate your weapons!"  Like Hell they don't, just listen to what they are saying.

O'Rourke supoorts mandatory anything that takes freedom away.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

-Dwight Eisenhower-

Which is the default position of every Rat running for President today.  Never seen such an extremist bunch running for that office.

O’Rourke Supports Mandatory Gun Buyback Program

He needs to use that as his campaign slogan when he gives up the presidential election and runs against Cornyn for senate.

What is a “mandatory” buy back, other than a seizure followed by “just compensation” under the takings clause?

Bobby thinks of it as like "eminent domain"... but for personal property.  LOL

The skateboarder speaks of "assault weapons and weapons of war." He knows nothing on the topic. Twitchy should just go away but, with his ego, that won't happen.

How can you mandate a buy back of something that was never purchased by the Government in the first place?

Extremist.  Absolutely.  Radical leftists that want Socialism and some Communism. Unfortunately Trump was standing between them getting control of the oval office.  His recent proclamation on gun control and red flag laws, runaway deficit, and no wall, doesn't exactly favor his re-election.  Besides ... it truly looks like the 2020 election will be a choice between voting for liberal Trump or the radical left, both which will be a disaster for our Republic.  Nope can't vote for anyone who would surrender our rights, especially the 2A.

That’s what it is.  However, he’s trying to pitch it as something it isn’t.

Democratic presidential candidate Robert Francis "Beto" O'Rourke confirmed Thursday that he supports a mandatory buyback program for "assault weapons and weapons of war."

I wouldn't expect richie-rich pretty-boy O'Rourke to know this but, every weapon is an "assault weapon" and every weapon including knives, clubs, pipes, and machetes, are all "weapons of war". The weapon is irrelevant. It is what the user does with it that makes all the difference.

Liberals really do not have a clue what they are talking about when they talk about weapons. They all just spew hot-button words that they have heard from other radicals without really knowing what those words mean.
You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.
Rational fear and anger at vicious murderous Islamic terrorists is the same as irrational antisemitism, according to the Leftists.

And receiving the worst of both worlds.  Pretty slick, that skateboarder.

Will the "just compensation" pay for the price of the firearm plus modifications, if any, made by the owner?
Highly unlikely. Typically, the money offered in these schemes is a fraction of the price of the firearm, deemed sufficient by some one who really isn't in any hurry to pay what the firearm is worth.

You can argue that the value declined when it was banned, but reality is that the value of things which have been banned goes up, not down, if those items are in demand (25 round magazines for a 10-22 rifle during the Clinton AWB were bringing multiples of their former market price, for example). There has been demand for firearms since their invention.
