The People's Protection Units, YPG militia began to remove their flags and symbols from the border areas with Turkey after the escalation of Turkey and the threat of President Erdogan to launch a military operation soon.

"The militia on Tuesday removed their flags from most cities and towns under their control on the Syrian-Turkish border, specifically in the governorates of Hasaka and Raqqa, for fear of targeting by the Turkish army," local sources confirmed.

The move comes at a time when the PKK arm, Kurdish militias are witnessing disputes with each other and internal differences, where yesterday clashes broke out between two groups affiliated to them in the countryside of Deir al-Zour led to a number of wounded, including a leader, which happened for the second time in days.
