El Paso shooting witness inspired to buy his own assault rifle

A witness to the shooting massacre at an El Paso, Texas Walmart on Saturday has said that he feels inspired to buy a larger fire arm in order to protect himself and his family in the event of another shooting.

In an interview, 26-year-old Alden Hall said he regrets that he did not have a gun with him during the shooting incident, as he felt he could have protected some of the victims. Hall, an army specialist, also said that he would like either an assault rifle or a larger handgun to be an effective combatant to a would-be shooter.

"I didn't think that I would need an assault rifle or a bigger handgun, but after seeing that yesterday all things are possible," Hall said of his plans to buy a larger weapon. He also cited Texas' conservative gun laws, avowing that he intends to buy an assault rifle to act in defense.

"This is an open carry state, so most definitely," he said in response to whether he would buy an assault rifle.

In the Sunday interview, Hall recounted with chilling detail the terrifying afternoon in which a man, believed to be 21-year-old Patrick Crusius, opened fire inside that south Texas Walmart. 22 people have died from wounds sustained in the attack, as of Monday afternoon. The shooter is suspected of writing a manifesto that cites Texas' burgeoning Latino population as one of the motivations for the deadly shooting.

A separate mass shooting incident occurred just hours later in Dayton, Ohio. Nine people have been confirmed as dead resulting from the attack, which happened in the early hours of Sunday morning. The suspect, 24-year-old Connor Betts, allegedly opened fire with a rifle while wearing protective gear.

This is an open carry state,

I hope he understands open carry for handgun still requires license to carry, same as concealed.

That is all well and good. I just hope he takes the time to become familiar with his firearm of choice. (Yeah I saw he was an Army spec, but hat doesn't mean he trained on a regular basis) practices on a regular basis and knows the fundamentals of CQB tactics. SH!T can go sideways in a split second.

Which is the exact reason one should arm himself with something he is proficient with.

And after Trump's re-election they will be available on the cheap.
