Erez Akrishevsky who was sentence to 21 years in Israeli prison in 1998 and escaped three years later, had been arrested in Mexico after 18 years and transferred back to continue serving his sentence in prison, according to the Police Spokesperson's Unit.

Akrishevsky had been convicted of attempted murder of a father and son at the Carmel Market in 1998 over a financial dispute, as well as for forging offenses. He was sentenced for 21 years in prison, which was later reduced to 18 years following his appeal to court.

Three years into his sentence, Akrishevsky was granted a leave from prison, in which he escaped abroad using fake documentation.
