RIO DE JANEIRO — Brazilian police say they’ve shut down a clandestine factory that was producing fake Ferraris and sham Lamborghinis.

A father and son who owned the workshop in the southern state of Santa Catarina have been arrested on industrial property charges.

Police said the cars were being offered on social media for $45,000 to $60,000 — a small fraction of the price of the real thing.

Bit bulky, for the relative value. Drugs would be better to earn a croooked living.

Where is the market? Brasil, Portugal, Douth America, Europe, the US?

Did the “Shamborghinis”  perform like the real thing?  Article does not say.

You would think not. The metal, all would seem to be off. Cheap replica but, if they make these, they could make about anything, well, a lot of things at least.

Good question. You'd think they're going after the working-class, lower-middle-class market who'd never afford a Lambo but love to show off on social media. I'd think the target market for these Shambos would probably be in the Americas, simply since I don't think there's as much of a market for it in Europe and it's tough to get those things over to Asia without getting caught.
