AOC fires back after Pelosi blasts far-left Dems’ ‘Twitter world’

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/aoc-fires-back-after-pelosi-blasts-far-left-dems-twitter-world

By Dom Calicchio | Fox News

Excerpt (video at link):

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez fired back Saturday night after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi criticized her and other far-left freshmen congresswomen for voting against a $4.6 billion border bill that President Trump signed into law on Monday.

Congress had approved the bill with help from moderate Democrats – and in a New York Times interview Pelosi slammed the progressive wing of her party for not also supporting the humanitarian-assistance measure.

“All these people have their public whatever and their Twitter world,” Pelosi said. “But they didn’t have any following. They’re four people and that’s how many votes they got.”

But Ocasio-Cortez took a different view.

“That public ‘whatever’ is called public sentiment,” Ocasio-Cortez answered later in a Twitter message. “And wielding the power to shift it is how we actually achieve meaningful change in this country.”

In a separate message, Ocasio-Cortez also defended the use of social media by herself and her fellow newcomers to Congress, over the more traditional – and often more expensive and time-consuming — methods favored by longer-serving lawmakers.

“I find it strange when members act as though social media isn’t important,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote. “They set millions of [dollars] on [fire] to run TV ads so people can see their message.

“I haven’t dialed for dollars *once* this year,” she added, “& have more time to do my actual job. Yet we’d rather campaign like it’s 2008.”

Ocasio-Cortez also criticized the Democrats who decided to vote along with Republicans on the spending plan to address issues at the U.S.-Mexico border.

I'm sorry.... but I'm having a real hard time giving a damn (being nice here) about what Pelosi says about AOC and vice versa concerning social media.  Can't seem to get unfocused off of that "$4.6 billion border bill that President Trump signed into law on Monday" part.  Especially the part about NO FUNDING FOR THE BORDER WALL.

Let them fight amoungst themselves.  It is good for the country to see how dysfunctional the Rats are.
“Here’s the truth. Life begins at conception. Government is too big. Our taxes are too high. And our car insurance is too expensive. President Trump is doing a great job. Facts matter more than feelings. The Second Amendment is self-explanatory. And as a doctor, I can assure you there are only two genders.”

I am a fair and equal opportunity disser.  I bitch when required.  And signing off on a multi-billion dollar bill (which Pelosi apparently is ok with) that has NO border wall funding in it... is a g'damned bad deal in my logic book.   It's a cave to the rats... and it's not his first and only cave.

It is clear that on this front they have him running scared....

All of the bad press and histrionics about the horrible conditions have him begging Congress for the $$$....

Hopefully he knows that he will get zero credit for spending this money....

The bulk of it will be swallowed up by NGOs, 'religious' organizations, and lawyers....  and will not stop the caterwauling about what a mean despot he is....

Is it fear?  Really?  Or is it something else?  Something else that explains his reluctance to veto the crap bills the rats keep sending him....?

Perhaps some fear...  but perhaps more of his penchant for thinking that he can 'deal' his way out of things....

put it in a private sector scenario....  (hypothetical, for illustration only!  lol)

Trump is getting bad press (fed by people that hate him) about shoddy workmanship and design flaws in one of his projects....

What is one of his likely first reactions?

Let me dump some $$$ on this and make a BIG SHOW OF IT in the press....

Thinking: They'll lay off of me and forget about it soon....

So, despite some of his supporters claims... he is, in fact, the quintessential politician.  Throw more money at it and hope people don't notice that nothing has been accomplished, except putting the nation deeper in debt.

Well sh1t yeah!  That is always how he has operated....

However, I hold out hope that is just part of the strategy....  my hope is that he is indeed trying to accomplish meaningful and worthy goals in the long run...

Recognizing the need to "stay alive" to keep moving the ball forward....

But....  this is one of those classic situations in which he would likely be doing (and saying) the same things whether or not there is more to come....

Only the passage of time will reveal the truth about it....

Yeah... at this point... holding out hope is about all we can do.  But it is (already) getting old.   At least with me, anyway.

So, smart aleck... what, in the latest $4.6 billion spending bill that he signed ...that Pelosi was suddenly A-OK with, is good or worthy of signing, in your humble opinion?  What does it accomplish for border or national security?

Ok,dumbass,I'll play. It was a bill he pretty much HAD to sign to keep the government going and to avoid taking an even bigger political hit than normal. Since you will no doubt want to play bait and switch, here is a link to the recent bills he signed.

If that is the bill that was PASSED BY THE REPUBLICAN SENATE that you are complaining about, here are the details. It passed the upper chamber by a resounding 84-8 margin with the support of the Senate's two Texans — Republicans John Cornyn and Ted Cruz.

Where can I read your whining about Cruz and Cornyn?

He should have vetoed it and held out ..... for a REAL refreshing change... for a deal with border funding.   It's yet another cave.... giving the rats what they want... again... and getting nothing in return.  The fact that Pelosi was "ok" with it should clue even the most stupid azzes that it's a bad deal for America.

@XenaLee

The fact that you don't hold the Republicans in the Senate responsible in any way tells us all we need to know.

I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.
