Police in Texas said Friday that they found the girl who was filmed licking a tub of ice cream and returning it to a grocery store shelf in a viral video last week.

The girl, who admitted to licking the top of Blue Bell ice cream and returning it to the freezer, is under 17, which makes her a juvenile under Texas law, according to Lufkin police, who are not identifying her.

She is from San Antonio, but was in Lufkin, about 300 miles east, because her boyfriend's family lives there, police said. Both she and her boyfriend have been "forthcoming" about their involvement in the incident, police said...

A woman who was filmed licking ice cream from a tub of Blue Bell and putting it back in a Walmart freezer has been identified as a juvenile from San Antonio, police said Friday.

Officers from the Lufkin Police Department refused to publicly name the girl because of her age, but they said they had no plans to charge her as an adult for tampering with a consumer product.

According to an update on the department's Facebook page, the girl is tied to the Lufkin area through her boyfriend's family.

Both the girl and her boyfriend, who filmed the stunt, were said to be forthcoming and cooperative with police, telling them what occurred and admitting to the act.

Had authorities opted to charge with an adult count of tampering with a cosumer product, she could've faced a sentence of between two and 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
