Joe Straus Returns
« on: June 27, 2019, 11:57:01 am »
Texas Scorecard By Brandon Waltens June 26, 2019

Former Speaker of the Texas House Joe Straus is back and aiming to influence upcoming elections in Texas with the creation of his new Texas Forever Forward PAC.

Seeding the effort with an initial $2.5 million investment left over from his campaign coffers, Straus said in a press release Wednesday morning that the PAC would “promote a thoughtful, conservative approach to governing and rising political leaders ready to ensure a bright future for all Texans.”

“We are launching this effort because I believe Texas needs leaders who are forward-looking and dedicated to bringing creative, problem-solving ideas to the new challenges our state faces as our population rapidly grows,” Straus said. “It’s time to unite Texas in civic participation and ensure our next decades are the very best in our long, proud history.”

"Forever Forward"?  An update of an old socialist mantra?

Did anyone really believe that he was just going to leave?  If so, I want to talk to you about this bridge I have for sale.
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."
