We’ve seen what happens when big money gets involved in politics. But what happens when big money in the hands of one of the world’s most powerful individuals is liberally spread around to get sympathetic voices elected? Activist billionaire George Soros has been peppering elections across the country with funding in attempts to install his own favored candidates into the judicial and political systems. Such was the path to success for Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner, as well as new Virginia DAs Parisa Dehghani-Tafti and Steve Descano.

Who is Larry Krasner? A self-proclaimed “completely unelectable progressive,†he was a career defense attorney famous for representing radical groups whose members were arrested at unruly protests. “He has defended, normally at no cost, protesters at RNC 2000 and DNC 2016, members of ACT UP, Black Lives Matter … DACA Dreamers … Occupy Philly and Reclaim Philadelphia … and opponents of the death penalty,†his 2017 campaign website stated.
