What To Make of a Report on ISIS Plans to Breach the U.S.-Mexico Border?

By Todd Bensman on June 19, 2019

On June 3, Homeland Security Today carried a story that pinched a raw nerve at the vortex of America's culture wars about mass illegal migration, a border wall, and President Donald Trump.

A captured ISIS operative still in Rojava, Syria, told American researchers with the nonpartisan International Center for the Study of Violent Extremism (ICSVE) that ISIS recruited him and others to penetrate the U.S. southern border by infiltrating migration routes through Latin America and Mexico.

ICSVE Director and Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Georgetown University School of Medicine Anne Speckhard and ICSVE Research Director Ardian Shajkovci interviewed the operative on May 12 in Syria as part of a four-year ongoing project for which ICSVE has already recorded conversations with 169 ISIS defectors, returnees, and imprisoned cadres. They paused long enough from their work to write the article.

That has been proven many times...even in Obama's open border policy.  BORDER PATROL said they are coming thru border and leave articles of clothing, or koran..to make known their arrival.   I blame all demon-rats, RINO'S and NEVER TRUMPERS.  This is all on them.

One more good reason for troops at the border.

We have about 2,900 troops at the border, but OUR immigration laws put in by demon-rats,  1965 & 1996,  won't allow any engagement by our military on "migrants". THAT means, no fighting, no bullets, no nothing...only having body's at the border.  No good.
Pentagon is looking to allow our soldiers some leeway.  ALL ON JFK, LBJ, TEDDY,  CLINTON.

The Pentagon is preparing to approve a loosening of rules that bar troops from interacting with migrants entering the United States, expanding the military’s involvement in President Donald Trump’s operation along the southern border.
Senior Defense Department officials have recommended that acting defense secretary Patrick Shanahan approve a new request from the Department of Homeland Security to provide military lawyers, cooks and drivers to assist with handling a surge of migrants along the southern border.
The move would require authorizing waivers for more than 300 troops to a long-standing policy prohibiting military personnel from coming into contact with migrants. The Pentagon has approved only one previous request to waive the policy since the beginning of Trump’s recent border buildup, in order to provide migrants with emergency medical care if required.

There are about 2,900 active-duty and 2,000 National Guard troops along the border.

U.S.-Mexico Joint Declaration

MEDIA NOTE

OFFICE OF THE SPOKESPERSON

WASHINGTON, DC

JUNE 7, 2019

Share

The United States and Mexico met this week to address the shared challenges of irregular migration, to include the entry of migrants into the United States in violation of U.S. law. Given the dramatic increase in migrants moving from Central America through Mexico to the United States, both countries recognize the vital importance of rapidly resolving the humanitarian emergency and security situation. The Governments of the United States and Mexico will work together to immediately implement a durable solution.
As a result of these discussions, the United States and Mexico commit to:
Mexican Enforcement Surge
Mexico will take unprecedented steps to increase enforcement to curb irregular migration, to include the deployment of its National Guard throughout Mexico, giving priority to its southern border. Mexico is also taking decisive action to dismantle human smuggling and trafficking organizations as well as their illicit financial and transportation networks. Additionally, the United States and Mexico commit to strengthen bilateral cooperation, including information sharing and coordinated actions to better protect and secure our common border.
Migrant Protection Protocols
The United States will immediately expand the implementation of the existing Migrant Protection Protocols across its entire Southern Border. This means that those crossing the U.S. Southern Border to seek asylum will be rapidly returned to Mexico where they may await the adjudication of their asylum claims.
In response, Mexico will authorize the entrance of all of those individuals for humanitarian reasons, in compliance with its international obligations, while they await the adjudication of their asylum claims. Mexico will also offer jobs, healthcare and education according to its principles.
The United States commits to work to accelerate the adjudication of asylum claims and to conclude removal proceedings as expeditiously as possible.
Further Actions
Both parties also agree that, in the event the measures adopted do not have the expected results, they will take further actions. Therefore, the United States and Mexico will continue their discussions on the terms of additional understandings to address irregular migrant flows and asylum issues, to be completed and announced within 90 days, if necessary.
Ongoing Regional Strategy
The United States and Mexico reiterate their previous statement of December 18, 2018, that both countries recognize the strong links between promoting development and economic growth in southern Mexico and the success of promoting prosperity, good governance and security in Central America. The United States and Mexico welcome the Comprehensive Development Plan launched by the Government of Mexico in concert with the Governments of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras to promote these goals. The United States and Mexico will lead in working with regional and international partners to build a more prosperous and secure Central America to address the underlying causes of migration, so that citizens of the region can build better lives for themselves and their families at home.

President TRUMP by new treaty has gotten MEXICO..to send 6,000 troops to their border, stopping illegals.  Mexico does not have our stupid rules of engagement put by demon-rats.

WE...DON'T.....HAVE.....THE...LAW......THAT .....PROTECTS.....US....FROM....ILLEGAL INVASION!

1965 LAW...then 1996 LAW....changes to IMMIGRATION....

The keyword in this quote is "policy".
NOT "law", but policy.
Policies can be changed with the stroke of a pen.

It's time to force the issue.
It's time to issue a NEW "policy" that troops have authorization to confront and REPEL invaders at the border, whether they be wearing military uniforms or clothed in civilian garb.

It's time to STOP the invasion, with those means that are effective and appropriate.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.

I gotcha on the rats and RINOS, because they are the ones who have stood in the way. But for Trump or not, you can be fully against invasion.

As far as I am concerned Washington DC has degenerated into (un)reality teevee anyway.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
