Progressive domination of America's sources of news and information has serious consequences. The Democrats are still the political home of Progressivism, as much as it has also invaded the GOP's ranks at the margins.
But for now, Democrats feel free to say whatever they must in the interest of promoting their agenda, no matter how tenuous their relationship with the truth. They know that they may do so because the media that serve them will either report or obscure, promote or deny, accuse or deflect, whatever the subject may be, based not upon a duty to provide public information and report the facts as they are known, but upon a "greater" responsibility to promote a shared political agenda.
As the Democrat Party and its putative leadership have become increasingly radicalized, the danger from this state of affairs will also multiply. Soon it will not be sufficient to merely drown out the voices of the opposition, but to deny their legitimacy.
As a matter of history, whenever a collectivist political movement, which is to say one that shares a common belief in State control, comes to dominate a nation's power structures, liberty is at risk and truth becomes a casualty even in advance of war. Danger lies ahead.
