Syrian Man Charged With Plotting To Blow Up Pittsburgh Church

Quote
Federal authorities have charged a Syrian refugee and ISIS loyalist with allegedly plotting to blow up a Pittsburgh church next month. Mustafa Mousab Alowemer, 21, is charged with one count of attempting to provide material support and resources to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) and two counts of distributing information relating to an explosive, destructive device, or weapon of mass destruction.

Federal officials announced the arrest Wednesday following an investigation by the FBI Pittsburgh Joint Terrorism Task Force. They said Alowemer planned to blow up the Legacy International Worship Center on the city's North Side to support ISIS and inspire other ISIS supporters in the United States to commit similar acts of terrorism.

And this is why I put the word "refugees" in quotes or refer to them as "so-called refugees.  This guy came with the bunch Obama took in back in 2016.  And the idiot mayor of Pittsburgh declared around that time that the city would welcome these "refugees" with open arms.   9999hair out0000

Exactly.  And Christians were not likely to become ISIS terrorists.

...   The FBI Pittsburgh JTTF investigation of Mustafa Mousab Alowemer (Alowemer) revealed that Alowemer plotted to bomb a church located on the North Side of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (the Church), using a weapon of mass destruction (i.e., an explosive device). According to Alowemer, his motivation to detonate a device at the Church was to support the cause of ISIS and to inspire other ISIS supporters in the United States to join together and commit similar acts in the name of ISIS. Alowemer also targeted the Church in order to “take revenge for our [ISIS] brothers in Nigeria.” Alowemer was aware that numerous people in or around the Church could be killed by the explosion.

According to the complaint and information provided to the FBI by the Department of Homeland Security, Alowemer was born in Daraa, Syria, and was admitted to the United States as a refugee on Aug. 1, 2016.  ...

Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto: ‘We Welcome All Refugees And Immigrants’ Despite Alleged Refugee Terror Plot
June 19, 2019 at 9:46 pm

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto reaffirmed his support for the refugee and immigrant community just hours after a Syrian refugee was charged with plotting an ISIS-inspired terror bombing at a local church.

“Pittsburgh has historically been a home for refugees and immigrants and will continue to be one,” Peduto said.

The Mayor’s statement came after the Department of Justice announced that Syrian refugee and Pittsburgh resident Mustafa Alowemer was arrested after allegedly planning to bomb the Legacy International Worship Center on the North Side.
Idiot.

@mountainer

The mayor owes the people of Pittsburgh an apology for bringing these terrorists to the city.  But he won't apologize.   He knows the equally stupid voters in Pittsburgh will still support him.  And these so-called refugees will also vote Democrat when they are able to do so.    What does he care that these "refugees" might kill his constituents?  There will be plenty of new voters to replace them.

Besides, if he admitted he was wrong to bring these "refugees" to Pittsburgh, he might have to return the money the Obama administration gave him.  By the way, I wonder what happened to that money.  It surely didnt go to improving anything in.the city.

He is reprehensible,  @Applewood  I don't know when or whether he's up for reelection,  but that city needs to go 180 degrees in the other direction.

The dumba$$ was re-elected in 2017.  In Pittsburgh, Democrats usually run unopposed or maybe Republicans will put up some token opposition candidate.  Add to that the strong unions which bankroll the Democrats, and the city is under one-party rule.

Same with many of the suburbs closer to Pittsburgh.  In my town this year we have a few minor council and school board posts on the ballot.  The Democrat candidates are unopposed, so voting in November is a huge waste of time for me.

And in this state, if by chance a Republican is elected, he or she most likely is maybe only slightly to the right of the Democrats.  In the state legislature, for example, it doesn't matter which party is in the majority.  Both parties love to tax and spend.

Nothing ever changes, no matter who is in charge.
