President Trump on Wednesday wouldn't commit to calling the FBI if a foreign power offered damaging information on a political opponent.

The comments, in an interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos, came after special counsel Robert Mueller's report, released earlier this year, detailed numerous efforts by Russia to interfere in the 2016 election.

"I think maybe you do both," Trump said when asked whether he would call the FBI or listen if Russia, China or another foreign government reached out.


"I think you might want to listen. There’s nothing wrong with listening," he continued. "It’s not an interference. They have information. I think I’d take it. If I thought there was something wrong, I’d go maybe to the FBI."

Stephanopoulos noted that FBI Director Christopher Wray has said campaigns should reach out to the bureau if they are contacted by a foreign entity.

"The FBI director is wrong," Trump said.

Can some one ask Trump other stuff we already know, like would he mock the disabled, call a race of people murders and drug dealers, or grab women by the crotch?

This whole issue is moot. Facts cannot be owned. (Copyright law is clear on that. You can own creative works, but not facts.) Therefore, if no one owns facts, it makes no difference who disseminates them, so long as they are facts.

It seems the Democrats have long been more upset about their trade secrets getting leaked than those trade secrets themselves.

It's not moot if it fuels the Dem narrative about Trump's cozying up to foreign powers.   Sometimes I think he just wants to let it all hang out and doesn't care whether or not he serves a second term.    Unfortunately,  Trump's coattails will drag down the GOP Senate with him.

And what if the information he might receive is a lie? 

Not that the truth matters to Trump.  After all, he and his followers spread false stories about Ted Cruz during the primaries.
