(CNSNews.com) - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) released a statement today saying that the Trump Administration’s decision to stop federal research that uses aborted baby parts—often by implanting bits of their organs in mice--is “a grave step backwards for America.”

She specifically reacted to the administration’s “cancelling a multi-million-dollar fetal tissue research initiative into HIV treatment at UCSF.”

As reported by CNSNews.com, the National Institutes of Health’s multi-million-dollar contract with UCSF required UCSF to make “humanized mice” with thymuses and livers taken from aborted babies.
