HILL: Mexico Is A Failed State, And It’s Time For America To Fix It

It’s time for the United States to step in and clean up Mexico by whatever means necessary.

Last weekend, Fox News host Tucker Carlson stated that Mexico “is a hostile foreign power” and that America “must strike back. He identified Mexico as a hostile foreign power attacking he United States, and noted that for decades, the Mexican government has sent its poor north to the United States. This has allowed Mexico’s criminal oligarchy to get richer, and at great expense to the United States.

Carlson’s claims are not without merit. Statistics show a marked increase in crimes committed by illegal immigrants. The proliferation of Mexican gangs across U.S. cities is tragic and unacceptable. While our public school systems are failing American students, several of whom graduate with compromised literacy and math skills, is it fair to ask American tax payers to finance the education of illegal residents in this country? Illegal residents who are the beneficiaries of Medicaid and other subsidized health care simply play a pivotal role in increasing the overall costs of such care.

Mexico is, undoubtedly, a political, economic and ecological disaster.

The author is a looney tune.  He apparently is very pleased with himself for coming up with this idea of putting a "failed state" into "receivership", and so advocates that we (apparently) invade Mexico and then fix it.

Probably don't need to explain what's wrong with that concept.

Took the words out of my mouth.
You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality.

It is a failed state.  The Cartels control 80% of the country.  Last election 130 politicians were assassinated.  Obrador declared the war on drugs over.  He will no longer be bringing drug Kingpins to justice.
AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

Can it be fixed, though? If so, how?

Lets build the wall south of the Rio Grande.

I think we should invade Cali before we invade Mexico.

Death.  Massive massive death.  Death in the hundreds of millions.  And some destruction.

It can only be "fixed" without violence by the Mexicans.  Order cannot be imposed from without except by invasion and pacification.

I will say, we're going to have to do it some day.  Might be 50 years from now,  but it's eventually going to happen.

The invasion required to liberate Mexico would make D-Day look like a pleasure cruise.

Besides, the major corporations exploit Mexico's cheap labor market and will resist any attempt to disrupt that. Imagine the big automakers pulling a "Hands Off Our Factories" and laying off all their American workers to flex their muscles. "We control American jobs. You do what we say or Americans will lose those jobs."

That cuts to the chase.  Nothing effective will ever be done to curb these problems because there is too much $$$ being made via the status quo.

Spain tried for 300 years and achieved nothing but a new religion.

I definitely don't like the idea of invading and trying to control a country with over one hundred million people many of whom are corrupt officials or gang members.
There is the possibility of coordinating with a friendly (if that's possible) Mexican gov. to do drone strikes on drug cartels/gangs if their hideouts/whereabouts can be found. Cartel members are wreaking havoc/killing Americans in the U.S. I would like to reciprocate much more harshly.
But invading with boots?....no thank you.

Even the French beat the Mexicans in 1861, their societal structure has been a failure for millennium. I think previous Administrations saw the Border/Immigration issue like a relief valve to prevent further Communist agitation in that fertile country.
Let the Chamber raise a private Army and Conquer them, they're the ones that will profit the most.
No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

Nonsense.
A war between the U.S. Army and the Mexican Army would be over in 2 or 3 days.

Cleaning out the terrorist cartels... would take longer.
