First, They Came for Mark Twain. Now, They're Coming for Mel Brooks
By Rick Moran June 1, 2019

Forty-five years ago, Mel Brooks made what many critics agree is the single, funniest film in Hollywood history. Blazing Saddles is not only an iconic comedy, but its social message about racism is also among the finest examples of using satire to make a serious point that you could find.

Now, four decades after it was released, the film has come under fire by social justice warriors because of its portrayal of white racism as comedy. Indeed, it's hysterically funny.

Deloy Murdoch:

This film concerns a black man (Cleavon Little as Sheriff Bart) who overcomes the severe, nearly fatal racial bigotry of a rustic town full of white people, mainly named Johnson.

But "think" is not a word in the vocabulary of most social justice warriors.

Of course it isn't. Social Justice Warriors don't think, they FEEL things.

It's how idiots become sages amongst their peers. Like the One-Eyed King in the land of the blind, someone with a double-digit IQ is a king in the Land of those with the emotional and intellectual level of a 6 year old.

About twenty years ago I showed Blazing Saddles to a bunch of late teen/early twenties kids. I figured it was a 'safe' and funny show.
Uhhhh...no. They were horrified.

But they pulled out a copy of Rocky Horror Picture Show and returned the favor.

Small wonder people are tearing down statues. Their worldview has the expiration date of day old bread.

The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

They'll never be able to take my DVD of Blazing Saddles from me.

They'll probably start referring to Richard Pryor as an "Uncle Tom".

Hell, the SJW's don't even know "Richie" was a contributing writer on the film.

Professional "comics" don't like performing to college audiences these days.

Ironically in the 50s-70s, many top comics got their start with young audiences.

The humor of Carlin, Prior, Williams and Foxx would be out of bounds, since professional educators have phuqued up our young people.

These educators indoctrinate your children there is no difference between male and females, and tell them that George Carlin is not funny.

That's my 'mic drop' comment when discussing Blazing Saddles with others.

I would have loved to been a fly on the wall during their meetings.

Watch out, the SJW's are going after John Cleese.
