Poll: Support for impeaching Trump rises to 41 percent

About four in 10 American now say that President Trump should be impeached and removed from office, according to a CNN poll conducted by SSRS.

The survey, which was released early Sunday, found that 41 percent of Americans said that the president should be impeached based on what they have read or heard. The figure represents a 4-percent increase from a CNN poll released last month.

A majority of Americans, 54 percent, say they do not feel Trump should be impeached.

The increased percentage favoring impeachment largely stems from growing Democratic support for it. Seventy-six percent of Democratic respondents said that they would support impeaching Trump, an 8-percent increase from April.

CNN or not, these numbers are troubling.

They reveal just how susceptible and gullible a large cohort of the population is.

They also reveal -- in stark terms that are undeniable -- that we are now a divided country, and that some kind of breakup or conflict will be comin' down the pike in the years ahead...

It wouldnâ€™t surprise me if every single registered democrat now wanted Trump impeached and removed from office. Theyâ€™ve been trending that way for awhile now.

But I wonder if they, and any never trumpers on our side who think itâ€™d be cool to not have to worry about actually running to win office anymore, have thought about what kind of country they will be ruling over from that moment forward.

My guess is they donâ€™t give a shit as long as they get the outcome they want.

Yep, I don't care for Trump, but dang if I want a sitting President justly voted in office removed under false pretenses. If they can do it with Trump, they will do it with someone I eventually actually like.

Troubling, but it IS a CNN poll. Since day one, they have been calling for impeachment and so this isn't surprising. In fact I will find it very surprising if he makes it through his first term without impeachment proceedings against him.
