You may recall that about a year into failed Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ tenure with the Trump administration he rebuffed several calls from members of Congress to appoint a U.S. attorney ‘outside the Beltway’ to investigate abuses by the Obama regime and the 2016 Clinton campaign regarding “Spygate.”

That attorney, John Huber of Utah, was supposedly a ‘special
prosecutor in all but name,’ Sessions said at the time.

He claimed Huber will be using all of “his prosecutorial powers” to conduct a wide-ranging investigation into alleged abuses that extend well beyond suspected FISA court improprieties.



“I am confident that Mr. Huber’s review will include a full,
complete, and objective evaluation of these matters in a manner that is
consistent with the law and the facts,” Sessions announced in late March
 2018.

And then…crickets.

Steady, folks. The article is grossly speculative. Until we hear this report confirmed by reliable journalists like John Solomon or Sara Carter this is likely false in its conclusions.

Utah Prosecutor Close to Completing Investigation of Hillary Clinton, Attorney General Says

A special federal prosecutor in Utah is close to completing an investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, according to Attorney General William Barr.

Barr told CBS News in an interview published on May 31 that U.S. Attorney John Huber investigation of Clinton is “winding down.”

Then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced in a letter (pdf) on March 29, 2018, that he had assigned Huber to investigate a list of potential crimes outlined by Republicans in Congress.

“The other issues he’s been working on relating to Hillary Clinton. Those are winding down and hopefully we’ll be in a position to bring those to fruition,” Barr said

While Barr did not specify the “issues” Huber is investigating, Sessions announced Huber’s assignment last year in response to “recent letters” from three Republicans in Congress: Sen. Chuck Grassley, Rep. Bob Goodlatte, and Rep. Trey Gowdy.

Gowdy and Goodlatte penned one such letter (pdf) on March 6, 2018, calling on Sessions to appoint a second special counsel “to review decisions made and not made by the Department of Justice and the FBI in 2016 and 2017.”

The lawmakers wrote that the second special counsel should review evidence of bias by federal government employees, how decisions to charge or not charge people with crimes were made, and whether the surveillance of the Trump campaign was “appropriate and devoid of extraneous influence.”

Based on the content of that letter, Huber may be investigating one or more of the Clinton-related matters the FBI was pursuing in 2016 and 2017.

Today on CBS Attorney General William Barr disclosed that the Huber investigation is over.

Huber was assigned to look at FISA applications and the electronic surveillance during the 2016 election and actions by Hillary Clinton.

Huber did not even start his investigation.

He didn’t do a damn thing!

I heard this/read about Huber last night and was absolutely stunned to know Huber did absolutely nothing.  I knew about his being appointed by Sessions and I have been waiting for his report.  He didn't even start an investigation.   How could he have done nothing?  Did Sessions tell him not to start - that it was just show to appoint him?

Huber was a head fake by Sessions. The GOP was on Sessions to appoint a SC so Sessions faked everyone out by
appointing Huber, who did absolutely nothing, which was exactly what that POS Sessions wanted.

If you listen to the interview of Bill Barr by the CBS reporter, you will see that this article is based on part of his comments on Huber.  @corbe posted another article that was based on the second part of his comments.

In short: no he didn't do anything on the FISA topic as he was waiting for the IG to wrap-up on that, but he has been working on "Clinton related" issues.
