With his work done and his office closing, Robert Mueller could have quietly slipped back into private life. Instead, he gave himself a ­blowout retirement party — and leaves America to suffer the nasty consequences.

On his way out the door, Mueller pointed at President Trump and told Democrats to get him. In a flash, the next 18 months were ­spoken for.

If you doubt it, look at the way Dems reacted. Or rather, the way they erupted. From Congress to the 2020 campaign trail, they united in concluding that the special counsel encouraged them to nail the ­president.

California senator and presidential candidate Kamala Harris captured the moment by declaring, “What Robert Mueller basically did was return an impeachment ­referral.”

She’s right, and the fallout will be enormous — and destructive for the nation.

Thing to remember is that the coup is ongoing and always will be, regardless of the no collusion finding. Democrats said as much when they proclaimed themselves the resistance. Two things have to happen to break this cycle.

First, AG Barr must quickly secure convictions against the plotters. And second, voters must make 2020 a watershed election and re-elect President Trump and fire as many democrats in congress as possible.

Going by past history ... ie just the last mid-term election.... color me highly skeptical.  But then...

I have become something of a cynic lately.

Americans are too dumbed down and propagandized to do the right thing... which would be vote against the DemocRats by voting for the GOP.   That, plus too many in the GOP have betrayed their base... too many times.  Add to all that... the fact that the cloud and shadow of "I" will hang over Trump right before the next election.  Bank on it.
