On May 12, 2014, Officer Mendoza was headed home on U.S. 60, when he was hit head-on by an SUV driven by Raul Silva-Corona, 42, who was drunk and traveling in the wrong direction on the highway in Tempe, Ariz.

The website, America’s Freedom Fighters reported:

    It is unclear at this time whether or not Silva-Corona was ever deported, or was simply allowed to come and go across our currently-unprotected border with Mexico.

Trooper Moises Sanchez was shot last month by an illegal alien, and is apparently still in intensive care.  The Hidalgo County Teenage Republicans have started a GoFundMe page for the family, but donations are slow, probably because they have the term "Republican" in their name.  If anyone feels so inclined to support Trooper Sanchez' family, here is the site:  https://www.gofundme.com/troopersanchez
