The Brexit Party has distanced itself from its most senior election official after BuzzFeed News found he had defended Tommy Robinson and repeatedly mocked the concept of Islamophobia.

Noel Matthews, the Brexit Party’s national election agent and the person with ultimate legal responsibility for its European election campaign, last year posted an article sympathetic to the far-right former EDL activist and wrote: “THIS. Tommy Robinson Drew Attention to Grooming Gangs. Britain Has Persecuted Him.”

Nigel Farage has said that one of his main reasons for quitting UKIP and setting up the Brexit Party was his former party’s “fixation” with Robinson and Islam.

Journalists targeted by Tommy Robinson supporters outside Old Bailey

Journalists reporting on Tommy Robinson’s latest court appearance have been targeted outside the Old Bailey.

Supporters of the former English Defence League leader, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, singled out journalists - particularly those believed to be working for the BBC - outside court on Tuesday.

Journalists were asked which organisation they worked for and whether they produced "fake news", while one individual tried to drag a Press Association video journalist to the ground by their bag.

The first article is from the maligned buzzfeed but it looks like it's not too bad. Also, perhaps journos in that country would have nothing to do with what was published here per hoax-gate... Russia-gate and a lot of journalists are just freelancing anyway.
