Don't call it the "Federal Government," that's an insult to the Founders.  It's a "National Government."
I will NOT comply.

   My bet would be sharing hyperbole somewhere else.
No government in the 6,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

GOP leaders should attempt to persuade Trump to decline to run for re-election.   I certainly agree that if Trump wants to endure this hell and hatred for another four years,  he will be re-nominated.  But why not get back to his businesses and family while he still has his health?
@Jazzhead

You said,…"why not get back to his businesses and family while he still has his health?"  He has never been satisfied with business and family - he has to have/create chaos around him every day.  He has had court cases going against him and him against others, every year since he entered business.  He will hang on to harassing someone for years about something minor.  He will attack the next president, doesn't matter if a Dem or Repub, because the person is not him, and he will keep this up until he dies. Focus still continues on the Mueller investigation and Russian collusion.  Huge cover perhaps for what's really going on behind the scenes.  Otherwise, not a whole lot is getting done.
"I believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey it laws; to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies." -William Page

@Victoria33

You may be right,  and not least because the Dems need him to run and are goading him to fight.    With the twin vindications of the Mueller report and the booming economy,  it would be easy to see another citizen-President declare victory on his own terms,  get back to his businesses and pass the baton to another.   But Trump,  as I think you'll agree,  has the sort of ego that would rather go down fighting.   He sees his miraculous victory in 2016 and his probable defeat in 2020 as bookends to the narrative of fighter-for-the-common man that he sees for himself.   He feeds off the Dems' hate,  as of course the Dems feed off their narrative of Trump as the ultimate villain.

And so it will likely go.   He thought he'd lose in 2016,  so he doesn't fear - and he may in fact welcome - his martyrdom in 2020.   The problem is where does that leave the country, with the Dems in control pushing an increasingly radicalized agenda?

All I can say in my small and insignificant voice is that life is too often a self-fulfilling prophecy.   If conservatives want their power and influence to continue,  the time is now to seek an alternative to the seemingly inevitable.

Dear Jazz,
Thanks for your excellent post.  You are doing the right thing - looking at facts instead of defending Trump no matter what the facts are.  If facts show your guy/woman is in trouble, try to fix it instead of covering it up with lies or not admitting it is happening.  Some knee-jerk people here attack me when I am using facts - if it shows Trump has a problem, attack the carrier of the news and not the news truth.  Also defending something he did does not allow fixing it if you deny it happened.

Trump may be reelected. Or a democrat may defeat Trump.

The probability of a different Rpubliconservative winning is ZERO, ZED, NADA, ZIP.

At this time there is NO Ralph Aleppo Perot in the wings, waiting to run onto the stage.

John Hickenlooper will be the democrats pick for their DNC candidate.  He is using all of president TRUMPS ideas & policy's, then throwing on some FREE, FREE STUFF....you know the unwashed masses love that FREE STUFF.

Former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, a small businessman who opened brewpubs in Denver and across the Midwest, is unveiling his plan to boost the U.S. economy by embracing what he sees as the power of private industry.

“We can make the private sector into a stronger engine of opportunity and innovation, rather than having it continue as America’s favorite political piñata,” he will say Friday in a speech in New Hampshire.
How would it work?

Hickenlooper proposes raising the minimum wage to at least $15 an hour. He also wants to tackle college affordability by cutting the federal interest rate on all student loans to 2.5 percent. Additionally, he pledges to make community college free and “launch the biggest expansion of apprenticeships and training in American history.”
His proposal calls for creation of an “entrepreneurship tax credit” for small businesses and a “micro-enterprise tax credit” for businesses with five employees or fewer and up to $10 million in revenue. He also calls for creating incentives for startups “in rural and distressed areas,” doubling the federal earned income tax credit, taxing capital gains at the same rate as ordinary income and ending tax loopholes for “very wealthy” Americans who pass portfolios to their children.

COUNTDOWN TO 2020

The race for 2020 starts now. Stay in the know. Follow our presidential election coverage.
oadband service.

He would pay for it in part by a partial repeal of the tax cuts that Trump signed into law in 2017.

Hickenlooper pushes for “an expansion of open and fair trade” and stronger anti-trust enforcement.

The plan includes “universal” health care while maintaining private insurance for those satisfied with employer-provided coverage.

What have other Democrats proposed?
Elements of Hickenlooper’s plan overlap with other candidates' proposals. Several others, for example, have endorsed the idea of a $15 minimum wage.

Elizabeth Warren
Bernie Sanders

But Hickenlooper, a centrist, stands in stark contrast to candidates such as Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who are offering more dramatic proposals to achieve economic equality. Sanders, for example, has proposed a federal job guarantee.

Hickenlooper makes clear he opposes ideas like the job guarantee and a government takeover of health insurance, which Sanders and other supporters of Medicare for All have backed.

“These are certainly big ideas; they are also not good ideas,” Hickenlooper says. “They would bloat the federal government. They would massively raise taxes. They would depress economic growth. And let me assure you, in the end, they would hurt working people.”

FROM SAME ARTICLE;
SOCIALIST.....MORE 'FREE' STUFF and we know the USEFUL IDIOT'S will fall for it.  Who will pay teachers?  Maintenance? Books?  Where will the money come from?    VENEZUELA  coming up.  Reduce student loans?  who pays?  Again, HALF are president TRUMPS plans, except for the FREE PARTS.

Oh my gosh!  Have you listened to how many people were used to FIND..some dirt..then 2 and half years of bad mouthing president TRUMP..IRS under Obama auditing him every year..and you STILL THINK..HE IS HIDING SOMETHING?  SMH.
35 MILLION WASTED from tax payers and that is NOT ENOUGH FOR YOU?  There is nothing personal to hide. My gosh, he has been reamed like a colonastomy...and you want more?  ENOUGH. ENOUGH. Ivana has written a book on their marriage. IRS has audited him every year. President has been targeted since MAY 2015.  IT WAS A HOAX. IT WAS A HOAX...& president still allowed it. ENOUGH. So, he is still "hiding something"?  Pay attention! Feinstein had a Chinese Spy, as her driver for 20 years!  Is that being investigated?  NO. Obama, born in Kenya. Investigation? NO. KILLARY?  NO.
