Trump admin set to combat overreaching district courts: ‘Era of judicial activism must come to an end’
May 9, 2019 | Frieda Powers | Print Article

President Trump is moving forward with a plan that would limit the power of judges to dictate national policy.

The administration is looking for ways to challenge the judicial tyranny of lower level federal judges in deciding on national injunctions, with Vice President Pence addressing the issue on Wednesday.

The authority of federal district court judges to issue national injunctions, which have previously halted policies that have been advocated by the president, is being targeted by the administration, The Hill reported.

I've been pushing this for a long time in this forum.

The first step is to "take a stand" and "force their hand".

Stand up to some idiot federal judge's trial court ruling and go before the public stating that it will be ignored and not complied with. State that a federal judge at the trial court level does not have the authority under the Constitution to rule in such a manner on any matter.

The democrat-communists will scream "Constitutional crisis!" and "impeachment".
Fine. Let them.
Then, push the issue upwards into the Supreme Court and let the chips fall where they may.

I've got a suspicion that even the leftist jurists on the High Court get addled when some junior judge tries to usurp their prerogatives by making such rulings.

Why put in all the years of work to rise to the position of Supreme Court Justice, when a newly-appointed circuit judge can claim the same power to effect national policy?

The Justices are likely to side with Mr. Trump.
