White House instructing Don McGahn to defy House Judiciary subpoena

The West Wing is instructing former White House counsel Don McGahn to defy a House Judiciary Committee by Chairman Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y.

White House officials indicated President Trump might exert executive privilege to block McGahn from cooperating, possibly setting him up for a contempt of Congress citation. White House press secretary told ABC News in a podcast Tuesday, "I don't anticipate that that takes place," in reference to the Democrats' subpoena. “We consider this to be a case closed and we're moving forward to do the work of the American people," she added.

The House Judiciary Committee has already set up a contempt vote for Attorney General William Barr for Wednesday over his defiance of a subpoena to turn over the full, unredacted Russia investigation report to Congress. Justice Department and House Judiciary staff are meeting on Tuesday to try and negotiate a deal.

I agree with Trump's new attitude here. Outside of refusing to fall into their perjury trap, he gave 100% cooperation with the Mueller probe.

There is no reason to continue to allow the rats to call the tune. Its a political farce, time for it to end.

Don't know that legally, Trump can order McGahn to defy a valid subpoena. 

So McGahn has a bad choice: Defy the subpoena and be held in contempt or obey the subpoena, resulting in some sort of legal proceeding by Trump against him.  Either way, some lawyers are going to be making a bundle.  And McGahn is screwed.

Wouldn't McGahn be covered by the President claiming Executive Privilege?

What worries me is that Nadler would attempt to nab him and haul him in in handcuffs to testify.
