Minneapolis Officer Convicted of Murder in 911 Caller Death

Okay, other articles are rolling in, this is about the Somali(?) heritage cop, Noor,  that killed the woman from Australia, I am updating.  That poor woman.  He was a diversity hire according to some sources. I don't think the jury deliberated on it for very long. Another good sign.

MINNEAPOLIS—A Minneapolis police officer was convicted of murder Tuesday, April 30, in the fatal shooting of an unarmed woman who approached his squad car minutes after calling 911 to report a possible rape behind her home.

Mohamed Noor was convicted of third-degree murder as well as manslaughter in the July 2017 death of Justine Ruszczyk Damond, a 40-year-old dual citizen of the U.S. and Australia. He wasn’t convicted of the most serious charge of intentional second-degree murder.

Noor guilty of third-degree murder, manslaughter in killing of Justine Ruszczyk Damond

Former Minneapolis police officer Mohamed Noor has been found guilty of third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in the fatal shooting of Justine Ruszczyk Damond.

He was acquitted of second-degree murder.

Noor sat expressionless with his hands clasped in front of him as the verdict was read, while the jurors remained calm, although one hung his head. Noor was immediately handcuffed and taken into custody. Sentencing is scheduled for 9 a.m. June 7.

I think this is a good result, all things considered. I shuddered thinking he could get away with this
. They say this has been a big story in AUS where she is from.  That they really are following it.

A great tragedy. Condolences to her family.

What's the over/under on how long it will be before Ilhan Omar tweets about the racial injustice of this conviction?

Reminds me of all the people who call the Police because someone is threatening suicide. Then the Police show up and shoot the person.

This is why so many people say, "There is no situation that cannot be made worse by calling the Police."
You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.
Rational fear and anger at vicious murderous Islamic terrorists is the same as irrational antisemitism, according to the Leftists.

Perhaps it will be the first time ever, there's been rioting because a cop got convicted.

  • That is the problem with everything. They try and make it better without realizing the old is fine.

Read a news feed recap and most headlines read: "Rare conviction of officer in shooting spurs race concerns", or Police officer convicted....

White officer shoots black person for no reason - media conclusion: WHITE RACISM
Black officer shoots white person for no reason - media conclusion: WHITE RACISM

IMO there are people in the Minneapolis PD who should be arraigned as accessories in this murder.

The previous large example of people getting unduly exercised over a black person  getting shot by a cop in the Twin Cites was the Philando Castile case from a few years ago.
Castile was a black motorist shot and killed by a St. Anthony policeman after a traffic stop in Falcon Heights. The cop told Castile to keep his hands on the steering wheel. Instead, Castile reached for something, and the cop shot him.
It turned out Castile didn't have a gun. Although he had numerous traffic violations, 52, and a few resulting arrests, he had  no criminal convictions.
The cop, Jeromino Yanez, was a Hispanic and not a white cop.
Didn't make any difference...there were numerous protests/demonstrations.
