Four Illinois children dead, all have ties to DCFS

Four Illinois children have died just this year who have connections with the Department of Children and Family Services.

Now the agency is under fire, after Newschannel 20 discovered major holes in their records,

This came following the death of the first child 2-year-old Ta’Naja Barnes.

She was found unresponsive and wrapped in a blanket covered in urine.

She died from starvation and deprivation in February.

I live right outside Decatur where this happened.  This baby girl was almost 3yo. She had a wonderful foster mother who loved and cared for her. She was returned to he bio mother and mother's boyfriend. You just don't die of starvation overnight...this took a couple of weeks. The DCFS worker came to the house to check on the baby and was never let in...instead of calling the police to get entry she just left..meanwhile Ta’Naja laid dying....she died just days before her 3rd birthday. Although there were hearings about how DCFS neglected to gain entrance NO ONE was charged or even fired from DCFS...the parents remain in jail awaiting trial for murder.

Probably a good thing I am not Master of the Universe. If I were,these two would be burned at the stake in public once found guilty. I would then make an announcement that this would now be the new standard punishment for anyone found guilty of torturing a child that dies.

Betcha that sort of thing would stop right NOW.

Bob and I have talked recently about workers' mindset these days is to "get by", do the minimum amount of work and get of the workplace so you don't have to do anything "extra"; do the same thing the next day.  Do not be responsible for anything.

This social service woman went there and left.  She would get her next paycheck.  Taking no responsibility for her "job", the baby died.

In a SANE world,she would be arrested as an accomplice for allowing it to happen.

AND.....,burned at the stake right next to the parents.

here she is in the care of her foster mother who did not want to give her back to dcfs...the *parents* would not release her for adoption...her foster mother was devastated
