If anybody, other than me, would take the time to go the news websites of a number of our major American cities with varied ethnic populations on a daily basis, they would soon discover that what happened (or has been happening in Chicago) has been an ongoing thing in many large American cities for the past ten years.
Or about when Obama got elected. Large crowds/mobs of black teens connect through social media, head downtown or sometimes suburban malls, and engage in various acts of pillaging, assaulting people, and just generally acting out of order.
Few of them are ever arrested or prosecuted.
These events are largely ignored by the national media who would prefer that it were white kids doing the rampaging.
But it is 99% of the time black kids. Not white kids, not Hispanic kids, not dot Indian kids, not Asian kids. Blacks kids...almost 100% of the time. Crickets from the media.
@goatprairie And THIS is the real,unreported reason why so many suburban shopping centers are going out of business,and why Amazon does so well. I may be wrong,but given a choice between two equally safe shopping options,the average mall shopper is a female that would MUCH rather shop at a mall where they can wander through the stores to look at different items,socialize with other women,and maybe even have lunch while shopping,than just use their mouse at home to click on a button.
Women LOVE to socialize. Men like to socialize with other men too,but not on the scale that women love it.
I came to this conclusion after seeing what happened in the nearest town to me,which is 25 miles away. The local Wal-Mart was the biggest store in a local shopping center that also had a sub shop,eye glasses place,chain grocery store,chain hardware store,and a few others. It had been built new maybe 15 years earlier,and did a good enough business it drew the other businesses in,and the parking lots were usually full.
The city built a "housing fo de po" development close enough that the po could walk to the shopping center,most likely with the mistaken belief it would benefit the po people who didn't all own cars,and the shopping center by providing them with a sudden influx of guaranteed shoppers.
It didn't work that way. If the po can walk there,it is close enough they can also run there and hide in the maze of identical apartments to avoid arrest. Shoplifting increased dramatically,and so did assaults in the parking lot,reports of cars being broken into and robbed,cops busting people making drug deals in the parking lots,female customers being insulted and threatened by thugs loitering around and taking over the benches put out so customers could rest,and pretty much everything else bad you can think of.
So Wal-Mart shut their doors and moved far enough out of town there is no public transport there except expensive taxi's,and more importantly,there is nothing but vacant farm fields surrounding the new shopping center they developed that now has at least 3 or 4 times the number of stores. Which means there is nowhere for the thugs to run and hide after assaulting someone or stealing something. Even if they have cars,they have to jump into their cars and drive for a few miles on a road where they will meet the police when they get back to town. If they have no car,they are screwed even worse because there is no where to hide.
Business is booming,it's hard to find a place to park,and there are several food chains for people to rest and socialize while shopping. The number of thugs you see standing around in clusters is at absolute zero.
The city is suffering because it is losing all that tax money,but the county seems to be pretty happy about the new shopping center.
This was easily done because it was a small city surrounded by a bunch of small rural towns. If you live in a big city,it won't happen because there is nowhere for the stores to go. Sadly,many will just shut their doors and go out of business while everybody pretends they don't understand what happened.
