@Victoria33

I never see any comments in support of conservatism.

Now, we can see that her statements on Trump's state of mind are probably just because of her/his view of politics. Lets' not forget in the last month she called him a dictator.

Then, we have to go through these condescending statements, "In a debate... " etc.

Democrat party abortion extremism is being defended and supported in this guy. Yeah, sounds pretty left wing to me.

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck.

Hey, Obama was a horrible president but guess what? He won his reelection pretty much in a cake walk, our country should be better than that but it's not.

So, yeah, if a Republican gets in there, I will support him.

I'll stop right there.  You accuse others of personal attacks yet, you can't get one paragraph done without it.

Sorry, ISIS is defeated, Obama and Bush set 'em up pretty good, North Korea is at the negotiations table, blacks have historic low rates of unemployment, some pro-life measures have been made that have teeth to them.

Sorry this offends you.

I voted for Bush, I defended Bush. Something here with you all is what doesn't add up.

North Korea at the negotiations table? That means absolutely nothing.

What you call a personal attack is in my opinion an observation of hundreds of posts made by ardent Trump supporters over the past 3 years. You have a problem, in that your leader has a mercurial personality who changes his mind depending on the last person who talked to him. That observation has been well documented in the press, and is borne out by Trump's own actions.

A personal attack is best exemplified by your statements at @Victoria33 . I have done no such thing.

I do hope that Trump can get more done on border security, though.
You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality.

The Buttigieg's are the Amos and Andy of the LGBTQC+ world. They will go to a breeder to get a custom-designed gayby, tweet about the latest diets and exercises, talk about their biggest quarrels (what shows to watch), expound on the virtues of being judgment-free while trashing Pence and invite us into their hunt for a new "family" vehicle.
Oh I just can't wait.

From mayor to President? Sounds like a pure publicity stunt to me.
BTW, even though I am several decades away from being a teenager, still having a name that sounds like Buttgig in America is unfortunate.
Sounds too much like a male gay porno star.

You said, "Democrat party abortion extremism is being defended and supported in this guy. Yeah, sounds pretty left wing to me."
______________
Pete B. is a Democrat, I am not. Period. You do have a reading problem if you think I support "Democrat party abortion".  Sometimes you and I agree but definitely not this time. Again, the thread is about Pete B. - not me.
I won't answer to another of your posts, as I think you have gone far afield of the subject.

The obvious answer for "what to do about Trump:"

Support him.

1. Admit you wre wrong during the 2016 primaries, which he won.

I did just that on the forum the morning after the election.  Where were you?  Only one Trump supporter had the grace to respond.

Quote
2. Admit you were wrong over the 2016 general, which he won.

I did that, too.  Again, where were you?

Quote
3. Admit you were wrong over how he would govern.

I think whatever good that's actually occurred has been more in spite of him than because of him.  Blasphemy, amirite?  He's the same Trump he always was and we're still waiting for that wall, which he doesn't give a crap about in reality.

Quote
4. Admit he is polling BETTER, than Reagan, B. Clinton and Obama at tthis point during their first terms.

I have no idea how he's polling nor do I care.  What difference does it make?

Quote
4. Admit that 80+ percent of Republicans/conservatives support the duly elected Republican President.

And?  Are we a herd, a collective, or do we think for ourselves?

Quote
5. Admit that alternatives like Weld are ridiculous, along with 3rd party efforts that only serve to fail.

My vote is sacred and you have zero right to advise me how to use it.

Remember John Anderson in 1980? At the end of his career, he supported Nader.

Well, they’ll never admit to being wrong about Trump; it’s in their job description: NeverTrumper.

Well, but we see that's not true, don't we.  Like I told @truth_seeker, the morning after the election, I congratulated Trump supporters on the forum and said I was wrong about the primaries, and the election.  Where were you?  One of your number had the grace to reply, and it wasn't you, bro.

However, some early NeverTrumpers were capable of feeling shame and remorse for wrongly believing the corrupt, lying, democrat media and have already come over to the right, winning side.

It's politics.  There's no "shame" in disliking or not supporting a politician.  You're way too wrapped up in Trump, and, because of that, you take every slight to him as a personal affront.  He isn't your family, aligncare.

@TomSea, you know what's tiresome?  The increasing incidence I'm seeing of the purity test.  "You aren't posting sufficiently to my standards, so you must be a liberal."  Stop it.  The groupthink is getting out of hand.

If you haven't seen some of us "comment in support of conservativism", you haven't been paying attention.  We've been here for about three years.  Why have you missed all of our posts?  What do you think we've been discussing, swapping out car engines?

Not everyone has unlimited time to spend here.  For me, posting the same old "Pelosi sucks" or ""Schumer's evil" over and over gets boring because it's Conservatism 101.  We KNOW liberals suck, and we don't expect fellow conservatives to need constant reminders in order for us to be considered "real."

Besides, and I've said it before, you and others cultivate a careful image of perfect Trump support here, but elsewhere you criticize him freely.  So please.

Some here will say I "love" Pete.  I am stating facts; the truth about your opposition is the first step to winning over him/her.

This Pete guy has crammed so much into his 37 years on this earth - all of it one success after another.  His mother and father were Ph.D. professors.  People should read about Pete on Wikipedia so they know what Trump is up against.  Trump will not win a debate with Pete.  When you get a chance to hear Pete, you will see how "cool" he is.  When you listen to him/see his demeanor while talking, erase your political beliefs.  Evaluate him as though you are a liberal; think in terms of Independent voters and Democrat voters - how they will relate to him.

Upon graduating from Harvard in 2005, Buttigieg was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship and in 2007 he received first-class honors in philosophy, politics and economics from Pembroke College, Oxford.

Look at the languages he has mastered. Look at his master of guitar and piano:
Buttigieg is a polyglot. He taught himself to speak Norwegian and is also conversational in Spanish, Italian, Maltese, Arabic, Farsi, and French.  Buttigieg plays guitar and piano, and in 2013 performed with the South Bend Symphony Orchestra as a guest piano soloist.

Look at his military record (Trump claimed heel bone spurs to stay out of war)
Buttigieg was commissioned as a naval intelligence officer in the Navy Reserve in 2009, and deployed to Afghanistan in 2014. After a seven-month deployment, Buttigieg returned to South Bend.  He remained a lieutenant in the Naval Reserve until 2017.

Here is Trump's problem with Pete.  Trump cannot attack him/make fun of him/give him a tacky name.  I'm sure Trump can't even pronounce Pete's last name.  Trump will try to use Pete's last name to embarrass him, but the embarrassment will be Trump's for not being able to pronounce Pete's last name.

Trump can't attack Pete's military service because Trump faked heel bone spurs and didn't serve.

Trump can't say he is smarter than Pete because Pete has his smarts on paper, the various awards he got for putting his high intelligence to good works.

The only thing Trump could use to attack Pete, is, he is gay however, Trump wants the gay vote, too.  If Trump made fun of Pete's sexual orientation, those gays who now support Trump, will leave him and vote for Pete.

There are many Democrats running for president; Pete is going to move up the line to the front.

@Victoria33
He sounds like a fine person.
If military experience mattered McCain would have beaten Obama.
If accomplishments mattered Romney would have beaten Obama.
If government experience mattered Hillary would have beaten Trump.
If intelligence or speaking abilities mattered President Trump would have been beaten by 16 other GOP candidates.
All those things matter to me, but to a majority of voters? no.

The openly gay thing is gonna be a problem for me.  I don't care what people do in the confines of the bedroom but this doesn't work for me...
I am homophobic, and I'm too old to change.  It's not a deal-breaker if the policies are right, but I doubt Pete's policies are going to be attractive to conservative Never Trumpers.

Maybe they will be for moderate independent voters.  The democrats need to make inroads with those voters to win the Presidency.  From my right side perspective the democrats appear to be moving further left, and about to fracture into their own splinter factions of Establishment rats who favor incremental change and the OAC wing of the party.

Perhaps not.  Maybe opposition to Trump will cement them behind a consensus candidate with broad appeal.  Thanx for mini-biography.  I'll check him out if he moves up the ranks.

IF someone makes statements, there is every right to respond.  All you are doing is protecting someone from being responded too.

So, @Victoria33 has psychoanalyzed Trump hundreds of times.

Let's see, Pete Buttigieg believes, that with saline abortions, a baby can be burned alive, Pete Buttigieg believes a baby can be torn to pieces. Oh, how dare we respond to any criticism of Never Trumpers which seems wrong to use the term in itself, in this case, it's more like Bernie Bros. You may think you are being noble coming to one's rescue, that's a reflection yourself.   Let's not let anyone else psychoanalyze.  Let's not let anyone else discuss.

Or calling people dictators, no right to respond. Maybe what is being responded too, is a leftist slant apparently.

And this, "Oh, Pete's smart if Trump comes up with his personal insults".

If one doesn't like discourse of ideas, maybe discussion forums are not for them rather than tossing out at people, "some of us don't  spend a lot of time here", then, save your time with responses to me.

Condescending talk is unwelcome as well.  But you have a right to it.  If you get some extra time, you should go see that movie "Unplanned".

Something seriously wrong with Pete Buttigieg, the dude should go see "Unplanned", he believes babies can be torn limb to limb and burned alive in abortions.  He states how he views others religions, whether they are Christians or not and then, goes on about "reproductive rights" but has entered into an infertile marriage against natural law.

Better?

Supporter of that green bill too. Oh, let's not criticize him.  888mouth

There was an article out, "Buttigieg, the left's new darling", odd man out, low charity donor Beto.

My gosh, issues must be discussed, if issues are not discussed... I really do think a lot of voters are ignorant, that's why we got Obama and the damage he did, yet, he'd still enjoy a lot of popularity with people.

@TomSea

I’m not trying to stifle your responses.  Go for it.  You set quite a few boundaries for permissible posting yourself, though.

“If one doesn’t like discourse of ideas”—-dude, do you really not see the irony, lol?  You spend a good chunk of time trying to squash criticism of Trump EVEN THOUGH YOU CRITICIZE HIM ELSEWHERE.  I know you don’t like having that particular hypocrisy pointed out.  I’ll stop when you do.

My intention wasn’t to be condescending.  I was explaining that I don’t have the time to visit every thread in order to offer posts  to soothe paranoia about liberals in our midst.

I ain’t being noble at all.  Like I said, I’m not here for the groupthink that’s taken hold, and the more I see it, the more I push back.  What is this “you might not be relevant here with those opinions” stuff?  That’s the environment some of us left in 2016 to come here.  We’re not doing that again.

You aren’t forum nanny, Tom.  Take a step outside yourself and learn how to deal with different views instead of trying to shut them up.  You’ll learn to defend your own opinions, and the air is fresh outside the bubble.

That’s kind of funny/sad—I think I said the exact same thing after coming here from TOS.

Thanks for the movie rec, but I have no plans to see Unplanned at this point.  As someone who’s anti-abortion, it’s preaching to the choir.  Besides, the Unplanned account on Twitter was putting out Qanon crap until the pile-on forced them to delete. But if you’re looking for good TV viewing, I have some show recs, so hit me up.

And you are SURPRISED that a sitting President didn't sign a state bill written and approved by state legislators?

Seriously?
Seriously, your own self. You must be fishing for poo to fling today. My comment was in reply to the slobbering over Trumps pro-life-dom, which hasn't really done jack.

The issue will be handled at the State level. Like so much else, all we need to do is get the Feds out of the way.
About all Trump can do is try to appoint SCOTUS justices who will overturn Roe.
