Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang revealed this week that he's planning to use a 3D hologram to hold campaign rallies in multiple cities at the same time. Yang discussed the hologram during an appearance on TMZ Live. The segment showed off a hologram version of Yang dancing and performing with the famous Tupac hologram that appeared at Coachella in 2012.

So universal basic income might, in fact, not be the dumbest idea this guy has conjured... but it does illustrate his point of automation well enough.

I think there are enough Democrat candidates to field two football teams. I hadn't heard of this guy. Here's one of his policy issues, posted on Twitter:

New Policy #17 - Appoint a Head of Culture and Ceremony. The President should focus on improving our lives as much as possible. Someone else should pardon turkeys and congratulate sports teams. Most Americans would rather meet Oprah or the Rock anyway.

His website is interesting, to say the least:

As president, my first priority will be to implement Universal Basic Income for every American adult over the age of 18: $1,000 a month, no strings attached, paid for by a new tax on the companies benefiting most from automation. UBI is just the beginning. A crisis is underway—we have to work together to stop it, or risk losing the heart of our country. The stakes have never been higher.  ...

Either through expanding Medicare to all, or through creating a new healthcare system, we must move in the direction of a single-payer system to ensure that all Americans can receive the healthcare they deserve. Not only will this raise the quality of life for all Americans, but, by increasing access to preventive care, will bring overall healthcare costs down.  ...

As President, I will…

Change the way we measure the economy, from GDP and the stock market to a more inclusive set of measurements that ensures humans are thriving, not barely making it by. New measurements like Median Income and Standard of Living, Health-adjusted Life Expectancy, Mental Health, Childhood Success Rates, Social and Economic Mobility, Absence of Substance Abuse, and other measurements will give us a much clearer and more powerful sense of how we are doing both individually and as a society.

Rein in corporate excesses by appointing regulators who are paid a lot of money – competitive with senior jobs in the private sector – but then will be prohibited from going to private industry afterward.  Regulators need to be focused on making the right decisions and policies for the public with zero concern for their next position.

The government’s goal should be to drive individuals and organizations to find new ways to improve the standards of living of individuals and families on these dimensions.  In order to spur development, the government should issue a new currency – the Digital Social Credit – which can be converted into dollars and used to reward people and organizations who drive significant social value.  This new currency would allow people to measure the amount of good that they have done through various programs and actions.  ...

Interesting. Holograms are being used to recreate scenes in movies. Holograms could be used to create illusion sand report 'fake news'.  This reminded me of the movie "Capricorn One".  What next in the world of politics?
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
