Rick Scott: U.S. military should deliver aid in Venezuela | Miami Herald
By Franco Ordoñez

WASHINGTON

After Nicolás Maduro blocked humanitarian aid from entering Venezuela in February, the U.S. and others responded with sanctions. But nearly two months later, much of the aid continues to sit at the Venezuela-Colombia border.

Now, Florida Sen. Rick Scott is urging the U.S. military to get involved in getting aid across the border, after unarmed trucks manned by supporters of opposition leader Juan Guaidó were blocked by Maduro on Feb. 23.

“There is only one option left to get aid to the people of Venezuela. It is something that no one is willing to talk about,” Scott said at a Thursday morning speech at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington. “It is becoming clear that we will have to consider the use of American military assets to deliver aid. Maduro and his thugs have left us no choice.”

Which is similar to how we got Blackhawk Down in Somalia.  Delivering aid because the local governments were stealing it or letting it rot at the piers.  Maybe we should have sent the military to oversee the aid to PR after Maria?
For unvaccinated, we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death — if you’re unvaccinated — for themselves, their families, and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm. Sloe Joe Biteme 12/16
I will NOT comply.

The Venezuelans voted that leftist demagogue into office in the first place.  It's up to them to solve the problem they created.  Or at least with the help of other Latin Americans rather than the cursed Yankees.  Any military intervention by the U.S. will inevitably be twisted down the road into anti-American propaganda by some other aspiring leftist dictator, either in Venezuela or elsewhere in Latin American.

There are a fair number of expatriate Venezuelans in Florida, so I can see politically why he is taking this position.  But it isn't our problem, and us treating it as though it is may cause even more problems down the road.

We always have a choice.   And I have learned to be suspicious of anyone that says otherwise.

No.  A thousand times NO.

Yeah, because spending our money, our time, and using OUR troops to support a communist country to survive makes all the sense in the world, huh?

Mo betta to let the people riot and THEN go in with food trucks after they have hanged all the government officials they could get their hands on.
Anyone who isn't paranoid in 2021 just isn't thinking clearly!

We should send in the troops, but to deliver more than just "aid".

A healthy dose of LEAD, as well -- aimed right at the communists!

A lot of Venezuelans are in Florida probably influencing saying something like this.  A bridge too far as for my thinking as of now. I'll have to see what he means. I heard it again today, Cuba is basically controlling  Vzla. I don't know when Venezuela last had truly free elections. Maybe, they have had those kind where a minority can win.

I won't fault the people and surely, they never bargained for a criminal enterprise. I think Pompeo just said they are the largest cartel in the Western hemisphere.

We've got Planned Parenthood getting a half billion dollars a year and who knows what happens in their clinics. I'm just saying, if people offload on the people there, we can look at a few things in our govt. and PP are not the only ones.
