White House proposed releasing immigrant detainees into ‘sanctuary cities’ to target political foes: report
By Louis Casiano | Fox News

The Trump administration proposed releasing immigrant detainees onto the streets of “sanctuary cities” -- including San Francisco -- on at least two occasions within the past six months as retribution against the president’s political enemies, The Washington Post reported, citing unnamed Department of Homeland Security officials and emails.

The proposal was first floated in November amid reports of a large migrant caravan from Central America making its way to the southern border. The other time it was considered -- in February-- occurred during a standoff between Trump and Democrats over border wall funding.

It was rejected both times by immigration agencies, the report said. A Nov. 16 email from the White House to officials at several agencies reportedly asked whether migrants could be arrested and bused to “small-and mid-sized sanctuary cities” and other Democratic strongholds.

How would this be "targeting political foes"?  Aren't sanctuary cities a blessing for everyone?

This president fights. He breaks the presidential mold.

Is it illegal or wrong if under current law detainees are released to the interior, that they be released to specific cities and counties? Hmm.  :pondering:

Due to the fact that Democrats are unwilling to change our very dangerous immigration laws, we are indeed, as reported, giving strong considerations to placing Illegal Immigrants in Sanctuary Cities only....

.... The Radical Left always seems to have an Open Borders, Open Arms policy – so this should make them very happy!

My my how the media is hyperventilating over this. Whats the problem - these people are an ASSET and deserve a safe space.

So say the rats. I'm shocked they aren't happy to accommodate them.

Wouldn't this be tantamount to acknowledging the legitimacy of the right of the sanctuary City declaration in the first place?

Also, what keeps all these criminals he dumps in those cities, in those cities?

Good thing he rarely is serious about these threats.

Seattle mayor pens op-ed saying her city 'isn't afraid' of immigrants amid Trump sanctuary city plan
By Tal Axelrod - 04/12/19 08:38 PM EDT

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan (D) wrote that her city is not “afraid” of immigrants in response to President Trump's his proposal to send detained undocumented immigrants to “sanctuary cities."

“Here’s a message to President Trump: Seattle is not afraid of immigrants and refugees. In fact, we have always welcomed people who have faced tremendous hardships around the world. Immigrants and refugees are part of Seattle’s heritage, and they will continue to make us the city of the future,” she wrote in a Washington Post op-ed Friday.

“What does scare us? A president and federal government that would seek to weaponize a law enforcement agency to punish perceived political enemies. A would-be despot who thinks the rule of law does not apply to him…He is demonizing immigrants and refugees to incite fear and to distract the American public from his own failures.”

Trump announced Friday that he is mulling sending the migrants to sanctuary cities, or cities that do not cooperate with federal immigration authorities through information-sharing or detaining immigrants, as a way to retaliate against Democrats.

Sounds like a plan then?

Win/win and everyone's happy?

Mark Levin did a monologue today about sending the illegals to Blue States, along with 90 percent marginal rates, Green New Deal, etc.

Can you picture GHW Bush, Dole, GW Bush, McCain, Romney, or Speaker Ryan fighting hard like this?

No, I can’t. Donald Trump was the right man for our time: a man who fights back against the tide of socialism, using all the tools available to an American patriot president.
