Why aren't Democrats supporting policies that lift those at the lower end of the economic scale?
By Jack Hellner

Democrats claim they want to reduce income inequality and lift those at the bottom of the scale. So why are they trying to kill policies that mean: “For the first time during the recovery, lower-end earners are getting more of the benefit”?  I would think journalists and other Democrats would be cheering these excellent results, but they are not.

For instance, Democrats say they are all for raising the minimum wage. Well, here's a real minimum wage rise and it's already in place: President Trump's lower taxes and reduced regulations burdening corporations are obviously allowing benefits and wages to trickle down to the wages of workers. In other words, the market works. Worker wages are rising without the federal government passing an increase in the minimum wage. Instead of accepting that the market works, (and different areas of the country have different costs and economic activity), Democrats want to kill opportunities by forcing an increase in the minimum wage no matter how destructive it may be to small- and medium-sized cities, whose poor and middle class will lose opportunities to move up the economic ladder. Small cities can often compete against big ones on cost. If Democrats get the minimum wage hike they want, they will kill the competitiveness of those cities and the jobs of their workers.

The political survival of the Democrat Party relies on people remaining poor.  And nothing guarantees the cycle of poverty be repeated from generation to generation more than Social Security.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

-Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."

-Ayn Rand-

Because that would be political suicide for them. What they NEED is MORE people at the bottom of the economic ladder, which explains their monetary policies.

They been selling Zero Gain/Loss Economic Change for so long that they can't.

For them to admit that wealth is Created, and not just Stolen/private Sector, or Redistributed (stolen through Govt. Taxes) would kill their whole game.

My 'Viking Hunter' High Adventure Alternate History Series is FREE, ALL 3 volumes, at most ebook retailers including Ibooks, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, and more.

In Vol 2 the weapons come out in a winner take all war on two fronts.

Vol 3 opens with the rigged murder trial of the villain in a Viking Court under Viking law to set the stage for the hero's own murder trial.

One half of the Dem constituency are people who think all their problems are caused by other people. The other half are people who think they're the most wonderful people in the world because "they care."
The Dem Party didn't use to be this bat-sh*t crazy.
Many of them, average Dem voters,  used to be patriotic, religious,  and believed that the U.S. was the primary force for good in the world.
That was my parents party. They were diehard Dems most of their lives.
My father hated communists.  And he didn't  much like unions. Both parents were devout Catholics who abhorred all the weird sex, pro-abortion stuff the Dems espouse.
Whatever little good there was left in the party died about when my parents died in the last ten years.
The party has been taken by leftists. There is no such thing now as an honorable Democrat politician.
It is now the party of thieves, scoundrels, and pos intent on destroying everything that made America great.

The narrative is "capitalism bad" and the narrative is more important than objective reality.

"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Aw, c'mon, call 'em what they are:
democrat-communists.

They are... the enemy.

And eventually, traditional-minded Americans will have to oppose them as such.
