Michael Avenatti is hit with 36 counts of fraud for 'stealing from clients and lying to the IRS' and now faces 335 YEARS in prison
Avenatti, 48, was hit with the new charges on Thursday in federal prosecutors
They include claims he stole from five clients' settlements by telling them he had not received them and spending the money himself
He also allegedly dodged paying taxes for years and stole money from employees' paychecks which he claimed was going to the IRS for tax
Avenatti is also accused of perjuring himself by lying during a 2017 and 2018 bankruptcy case for his law firm
If convicted on all 36 counts, he will spend the rest of his life behind bars
The 48-year-old is also facing four felony charges in New York for allegedly trying to extort Nike
He denies every single allegation and claims he is being targeted by politically motivated enemies
Avenatti will return to court on April 29 in Santa Ana, California
