Watch the video.  This isn't fake news its the real thing.  I discovered things I didn't know.  Like that illegal immigrants recycle children.  Men are bringing the children in and they the send them back to be used by someone else.  Also that something like 80% of the unacompanied children are then given to people in the US illegally.  Its an incentive for illegal immigrants.  One that President Trump signed up for.  You are not going to get the truth from Trump.  Your not going to get it from the media but this is a Senate Meeting.  Overall it was a pleading with Congress to do something.  Very interesting.

Thank you @Chosen Daughter excellent post; very informative and certainly something that I hand't heard of.  This is indeed alarming!  The firing of Nielsen is now troubling.  You are absolutely right.  We are not going to get the truth from Trump.  He continues to backpedal, hesitate, tweet, threaten and now fires the head of DHS who obviously was trying to make him aware of the situation ... Sen. Grassley is concerned about Trump firing the very people who are trying to help him and the situation.

???? Do you really think anyone is taking pleasure in Trump's FAILURE at the border??  Our Republic is at stake.  We are reaching a point of no return.

I believe you are delusional if you think Trump's intent was to build a wall and secure the border.  He had opportunity to act long ago.  Ask yourself, why did he wait? Why did he agree to DACA amnesty? Why did he play tiddly winks with Pelosi when he knew darn well what the result would be?  Why did he sign a bill that allows states to opt out of a barrier? Why has he ignored resolutions to getting money to pay for the wall? Why did he declare a national emergency and then do nothing?  Why did he agree to allow the UN the authority to handle and place those seeking asylum?  Why did he threaten to shutdown the border and then change his mind and give Mexico a year? 

This invasion on our country is like nothing ever seen before.  It is happening on HIS watch. Yes he's brought focus, because of his idle threats and numerous tweets, the invasion now consists of people coming from 50 different countries.  Having a president who keeps announcing his threats for an extended period of time and then does nothing and then extends the threat to shutdown the border till next year, now lacks credibility.

The only thing he has accomplished is holding the door open and inviting them in!

Oh yeah the testimony about people coming from 50 different countries.  We have no idea what kind of terrorists are getting in.  They can't even vet the people because they are so over capacity.  I find everything you said above suspicious.

Here is more:

Why did he say Mexico would pay for the wall and never squeeze the new President who announced that he thought invading America is a human right? 
Why have those prototype walls built and settle for the kind that illegals can climb?
Why give illegals more incentive by signing a bill that allows illegal immigrants to sponsor unnacompanied children?
Why sign the bill that allows local governments on the border to deny a wall?

And listening to the testimony they are overwhelmed with just trying to take care of illegal immigrants.  Taking them to hospitals and caring for them.  Making sure they have places to sleep etc. etc.
