Mexico still has 150 jailed drug traffickers awaiting extradition to US

They got “Shorty,” but Mexican authorities are dragging their feet on the fate of another 150 jailed drug traffickers awaiting extradition to the United States, a federal source told The Post.

The new administration of leftist president Andres Manuel Lopez-Obrador is also doing little to seize the tens of millions of dollars in assets accumulated by Joaquin Guzman Loera, known as “El Chapo” or “Shorty,” the source said.

“They could care less about seizing El Chapo’s assets or the drugs that are still making their way into the US,” the source said, adding that Guzman’s Sinaloa cartel has gone beyond trafficking in marijuana and cocaine, and is now “heavy into meth and fentanyl,” which are being produced in Mexico and shipped around the world.
