US labels Iran's elite Revolutionary Guard Corps a 'terror group'
President Donald Trump announced Monday that the US is designating Iran's elite Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) a foreign "terrorist organisation", marking the first time Washington has formally labelled another country's military a "terrorist group".
Iranian officials have threatened to respond to the move in kind, with legislators reportedly preparing legislation that would label the US military as a "terrorist group", according to Iran's state-run media.
The United States has already blacklisted dozens of entities and people for affiliations with the IRGC, but not the organisation as a whole.

Unless, one can really make the commitment to send in troops to fight wars, fighting in Iran's own backyard is a tremendous challenge.
I wonder if when we decided to go into Iraq, if we took into account we might be fighting Iranians and to a lesser extent the role Syria played in that war, both which were tremendous. It would be one thing if thought we were just fighting Saddam and his regime.
For the record, news over the weekend, said the Iranian-backed forces probably killed over 600 of our soldiers.
