FEC Complaint: AOC Ran “Subsidy Schemeâ€
A new Federal Election Commission complaint alleges that socialist darling Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Saikat Chakrabarti, her campaign manager, ran a “subsidy scheme†in violation of campaign finance laws to fund her campaign for Congress. The complaint, obtained by Fox News, alleges that Chakrabarti’s group Brand New Congress LLC undercharged clients, such as Ocasio-Cortez. It could afford to do so because, in turn, it was subsidizing its losses with PAC money from Justice Democrats PAC and Brand New Congress PAC. If true, this is highly illegal and could lead to jail time. We expect more than a few centrist Democrats are quietly wringing their hands at the opportunity to rid themselves of this stain on their party. All the more reason we hope AOC beats the charges; she’s the best gift to conservatives since, well, Hillary.
